Central Florida Early Steps

Central Florida Early Steps No income requirements to qualify. No out-of-pocket expenses.

Florida's Early intervention system that serves families of children 0 - 36 months, with developmental delays, disabilities, and at-risk conditions in Orange, Seminole and Osceola counties. The Developmental Center for Infants & Children/Early Steps is an early intervention program that sees children from birth to age three who have or who are at risk for any kind of developmental delay or disability. Through the program, families learn about their children's development, how they might help them overcome delays and how they can obtain appropriate community services and support. Our goal is to provide culturally appropriate support to help families strengthen their children's intellectual, physical, emotional, social and sensory abilities.

The Mental Health Association of Central Florida has FREE resources to help you and your baby grow both physically and mentally! šŸ‘¶šŸ¼

Being a caregiver for a newborn can sometimes be a stressful event in your life, so we're here to help with our Baby Bag of Mental Wellness Guide, which is packed full of mental wellness information you can use to track you and your baby's mental milestones.

This page from our guide highlights how you can create a connection and a nurturing environment for both you and your newborn. Bonding with your newborn is not only crucial for your baby’s emotional development—it’s also essential for your own well-being and sense of connection in this new role.

Conecting with other families is very important and helpful for caregivers. If you have a young child with an Autism diagnosis or you suspect they could have autism, we encourage you to register with UCF CARD and to participate in the support group described below.

Join us January 8th for our support group for parents of young children with ASD. This support group is for parents of 2–11-year-olds who are registered with UCF CARD. This can be a great place to ask the facilitator, or other parents, questions about how they are navigating this with their child, resources that have worked, and those that haven’t worked. Some parents come to listen, others come to vent, and others come with questions – all are acceptable! We meet monthly via zoom on the second Thursday of each month and would love to have you join us!

To register, scan the QR code or go to Register here: POYC26.eventbrite.com.
