Tired eyes? You might just need a break! 😴
Long days, bright screens, and late nights can all take a toll on your eyes. Here’s how to rest and refresh them:
💧 Blink often to prevent dryness
💻 Limit screen time before bed
🌙 Get enough sleep — your eyes repair overnight

Halloween is almost here! 👻 Costumes and makeup can be fun, but those spooky colored contacts might not be as harmless as they look.
Did you know all contact lenses — even decorative ones — require a prescription in the U.S.?
Buying them from a costume shop or unverified online seller can expose you to serious risks like eye pain, infections, and even permanent vision loss.
Pro Tip: If you want to add contacts to your costume, talk to your eye doctor first. Safe eyes = a safe Halloween!

Wearing non-prescription costume contacts makes you 16 times more likely to develop an eye infection. Be careful this Halloween!

Dry eyes? You’re not alone!
Many of us experience dryness and irritation from everyday habits like blinking less while staring at screens, spending long hours on computers or phones, and even being in air-conditioned or heated environments. Over time, these factors can make your eyes uncomfortable, red, or blurry.
Staying hydrated, taking regular screen breaks, and using artificial tears can help, but persistent dry eye may signal an underlying issue that deserves attention. 👁️
Don’t wait — schedule an eye exam with us to find the cause and get relief for healthier, more comfortable eyes!

Sitting on the bus after a long day in college I saw an advertisement asking “Are you interested in a career as an Optometrist?” in the school newspaper. At the time my answer was “I’m not sure”. I knew I wanted to provide a health service of some sort to my community but I really didn’t know in what capacity. I decided to seek more information about this ad. I followed the directions laid out in the ad and met a gentleman from the optometry college in New York City. After meeting with him I realized this is something I needed to pursue.
In my college town of London, Ontario Canada, I met with the local optometrist for a job shadowing session. We talked for a while. He was a very happy person and loved his profession. I wasn’t too convinced that it was for me until he let me look into a one of his patient’s eyes. I was blown away! Truthfully, I am still blown away 17 years later. I was hooked and everything in me was all the way into becoming an optometrist!
I attended the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in August of 2004. During my internship and externship training, I completed a rotation in south Florida in December of 2006. I was very pleased to be enjoying 80 degree weather in December! That weather sold me on living in Florida after my education was over. Upon graduation in 2008, I decided to obtain additional training by completing a residency in ocular disease at the Hudson Valley Veteran's Administration hospital in upstate New York. After that residency was done I headed for the sunny skies of Florida.
I settled in Tampa, Florida in 2010. I loved it! I met my beautiful wife, Alansen and not long after we decided to relocate to Orlando. I love it even more! We now have two wonderfully energetic boys. We call central Florida our home together and we both want to help make our community the best it can be.
My parents are from a small island in the Caribbean called St. Lucia. Growing up I was lucky enough to travel there numerous times. Those experiences were priceless and St. Lucia remains a very special place to me. I learned all about my family history during my travels. One of the more significant things I learned was about the family land and business that was conducted on it. My great grandfather was a lumberjack of sorts and would farm trees and sell the wood to neighboring islands. He would actually sail the ships to other lands himself!
My family sold this land sometime ago and my grand aunts were kind enough to share a small amount of the profits with me to help start my own independent optometric practice. So my new practice is not just an embodimet of my own self but also a representation of the trust that prior generations have placed in me. I take this trust very seriously and will treasure it always. So know that when you come to see me for some glasses or an eye exam, you have generations standing with me, and you, to help meet all of your eye care needs!
It has been a dream of mine to open my own independent optometric practice for about 10 years. Finally, this year that dream is happening. The hard work of my parents and generations in my family before me is enabling my dream to become a reality. I am forever grateful to them and to the central Florida community for trusting me to provide eye care services for the past 10 years. I can’t wait to keep it going into the future!
