If only breastfeeding really was as simple as just “supply and demand”.

And it typically is! But there is so much NUANCE! Everyone has a unique case.

This OT was saying “just put your baby to the breast”…”nutrition doesn’t matter”…”cross cradle hold is one of the worst positions…”

There is so much nuance! So please be weary of these accounts who talk in absolutes and please see an actual IBCLC lactation consultant whose entire job is to troubleshoot and help breastfeeding families.

And if you’re ready to feel confident in your BF journey, we’d love to work with you!

What are your thoughts about “just nurse more”

Most moms don’t need more information, they need a starting point.

When you’re exhausted, overwhelmed, and just trying to get through the day, another “protocol” isn’t helpful.

What is helpful?
▶️Understanding the *why* behind many of your symptoms
▶️Supporting your blood sugar, minerals, and circadian rhythm
▶️Small, doable habits that actually fit into your life (because YOU decide)

This is exactly why I created my Energy Reset framework 🔥

These are the same foundations we use with our 1:1 clients before we ever run labs.

It’s the stuff many practitioners skip but it goes a long way.

Start here. Then go deeper if needed.

Doors open next week just in time for Mother’s Day 🙌🏼
Take this as your sign to fill your cup and actually feel good again.

Whether you’re a few months postpartum or years in…
this is where you start.

Thank you so much and for this conversation!!

It’s crazy that formula marketing is OUTPACING breastfeeding support online!

❗️This isn’t about shaming formula.❗️This is about informed consent!

Per the CDC, ~80–85% of moms start breastfeeding… but rates drop quickly.

There are a lot of reasons for that, but we cannot ignore the impact of:➡️ aggressive formula marketing➡️ lack of accessible breastfeeding support

Formula companies have massive ad budgets, influencer partnerships, and strategic messaging designed to plant doubt

Then breastfeeding has
➡️limited support
➡️misinformation
➡️exhausted moms trying to figure it out alone

Then we wonder why so many moms feel like:“I just didn’t make enough milk”“My body must not be working”“Maybe this just isn’t for me”

But the truth is… many moms were never fully supported in the first place.

Again, this is NOT anti-formula!!
Families absolutely need it, and thank goodness it exists.

But we ALSO need to protect and support moms who do *want* to breastfeed.

Families deserve real education and real support to make INFORMED DECISIONS.

Not decisions influenced by a billion-dollar marketing strategy.

We even approached several months ago, regarding formula ads due to FDA-related concerns, and they responded🎉

If you’re a provider, advocate, or just a mom who cares about this, then join us next week as we discuss what we can do and hear what had to say.

Comment “zoom” and you can register and help us further support moms to make informed decisions.

Im doing a little mini series on blood sugar and why this is the FIRST thing, we address with all of our clients.

Balanced blood sugar is literally FOUNDATIONAL and something that cannot be missed when supporting your body.

This impacts
〽️metabolism
〽️ hormones
〽️ immune system,
〽️ energy
〽️ weight management
〽️ fertility

Literally everything!

When you eat, your body breaks food down into nutrients (like glucose) that enter your bloodstream.

From there, your pancreas releases insulin; think of it like an Uber driver picking up glucose and delivering it to your cells so it can be used for energy.

When this system is working well → steady energy, stable mood, balanced hormones.

But when it’s not

that’s when you start feeling the crashes, cravings, brain fog, and frustration.

And here’s what people are missing - Electrolytes! specifically magnesium and potassium, have a HUGE role in blood sugar balance.

Tomorrow I’m breaking down what insulin resistance is and *how* we can support balanced blood sugar…stay tune 🤗

▶️And if you’re tired of spinning your wheels and trying to figure out your health alone,

my team of registered dietitians would love to help you address your health and show you where and how to start. Comment “support”!

To say electrolytes are a scam… just isn’t accurate.

Electrolytes, like magnesium, potassium, sodium, calcium, and chloride, are involved in hundredssss of processes in the body.

Like proper hydration, energy production, nerve function, muscle contractions… even milk production!

And during pregnancy, postpartum, and breastfeeding?
👉 Your needs go up, not down.

Add in stress, poor sleep, and busy mom life… and it’s not hard to fall behind.

Now are all electrolyte products created equal?
Absolutely not!!

Some are loaded with sugar and barely contain meaningful amounts of actual electrolytes.

▶️That’s where education and discernment matter.

But that doesn’t make electrolytes a scam—it means you need a better product! (This goes with all supplements)

Because when done right, the difference can be significant.

I’ve had countless clients (and experienced it myself) report better:
✔️ Energy
✔️ Brain fog
✔️ Sleep quality
✔️ Hydration
✔️ Even milk supply

And no it’s not just “drinking more water.”

There’s a reason electrolytes are used in clinical settings… and even in agriculture for recovery and production (did you know they give electrolytes to dairy cows!?)

👉 When choosing an electrolyte, here’s a general guideline (per serving) but once again there is nuance:

~200–400+ mg potassium
~50–100+ mg magnesium (watch for GI tolerance)
~200–800+ mg sodium (very individualized)
~Minimal to no added sugar (natural sources are fine)

And always choose a reputable, ideally third-party tested brand.

Food first—always.
But this is one area where supplementation can make a real difference for so many.

▶️ If you want my mineral guide, DIY recipes, or product recommendations, comment “minerals” 👇

Electrolytes should complement a nutrient-dense diet, not replace it. Context and individual needs always matter. I don’t like this black and white thinking for nutrition and supplements.

And I’m curious—have you noticed a difference when adding electrolytes?

A huge benefit of breastfeeding that doesn’t get talked about enough?👉 It helps your blood sugar! 😧And this matters more...

A huge benefit of breastfeeding that doesn’t get talked about enough?

👉 It helps your blood sugar! 😧

And this matters more than most people realize.

Breastfeeding is one of the most metabolically demanding things your body can do, requiring ~500+ calories per day (and even more with twins).

Your body uses glucose (carbs) to make milk…
Which means it’s actively pulling sugar out of your bloodstream and using it for milk production.

➡️ This is one reason many moms see improved insulin sensitivity postpartum.

Think of insulin like an Uber driver; it picks up the glucose and delivers it to your different organs including breasts.

if your body isn’t responding to the “uber drivers”, glucose isn’t getting where it needs to go.

BUT—here’s the part no one talks about…

If you’re already insulin resistant, your body struggles to move that glucose into your cells.

And that includes your breasts.

👉 Which can impact milk production.

This is why:
✔️ Undereating = more exhaustion
✔️ Cutting carbs = can backfire
✔️ Blood sugar balance = foundational for milk supply

Breastfeeding can support blood sugar…
But your body still needs the right inputs to keep up.

Focus on:
Protein + fiber + carbs
Enough food (3-4 meals!)
Electrolytes + minerals

So my professional recommendation?

👉 Nourish yourself… then breastfeed for that added blood sugar support.

All in all, you don’t need more restriction… you need better support 🙌🏼

Comment INSULIN and I’ll send you my blog on this topic and resources on where to start.

Did you know this about breastfeeding?

I think it’s so amazing for us (moms) and our overall health

This client came to us at 3months postpartum to address her low milk supply.

Baby had had his tongue tie released, they’d done suck training, she got the right fl**ge size etc etc but still was experiencing low milk supply.

Not only did we address the lactation side but then her metabolic side.

We were able to run labs to see what’s going on hormonally

Big signs:
▶️Insulin resistance even though her A1C is beautiful, her insulin was triple what it should be
▶️Her thyroid needed lots of support, her TSH was incredibly low, low T4 and her antibodies were elevated pointing to possible autoimmune concerns
▶️we also checked iodine (not in the video) and she was superrrr low and our breasts NEED iodine. Low iodine can point to low milk supply AND thyroid concerns.

We put a plan in place which addressed nutrition foundations, targeted minerals and targeted supplements to support insulin resistance.

Her supply increased some but at this point she was 4-5months PP and at this point it’s very hard to get it up to a full supply.

We reviewed non-nutritive sucking and since she was making

I know how overwhelming and overstimulating it can feel with little kids.

At one point we had 4 kids, all 5 and under… so “stepping away” wasn’t exactly an option.

So I got creative 😅

Hide and go seek became my way to sneak in a reset while still being present:

〽️ Make myself a snack… and actually eat it in peace (without sharing 😆)
〽️ Take a few deep breaths, stretch, and calm my nervous system
〽️ Pop in my AirPods and listen to my music, binaural beats, or an audiobook

The kids think it’s a game…
but really, it’s my reset.

And honestly? It gives me the stamina to keep showing up the way I want to.

You don’t always need to leave your kids to take care of yourself… sometimes you just need a little creativity.

How do you “catch your breath” when you can’t step away?

And if you want some DIY mineral mocktail recipes to help with your energy and nervous system (bc we use up so many minerals with stress), comment “minerals” and I’ll send you my free mineral guide

Can you relate to any of these symptoms?
These are not normal! They were her body speaking to her

And once we were able to identify what was going on in her body with specialty lab testing, we were able to create a customized plan that worked for her and her family.

Once we addressed the root causes with nutrition and lifestyle support everything shifted.

✔️Her energy improved
✔️her migraines disappeared
✔️her digestion improved
✔️her cravings reduced
✔️she felt calmer
✔️more patient
✔️more like herself again.

She said “this program didn’t just change how I eat, It changed how I show up for my family.”

If you’re feeling exhausted foggy or not like yourself postpartum you don’t have to figure it out alone.

➡️Comment support and let’s see if our program is the right fit for you. You don’t have to do this alone!

This is what happens when we prioritize convenience over connection 😰

I’m a twin mom, I understand survival mode.
We’ve propped a bottle before. I get it 😰

But THIS?
A robot replacing a caregiver during a feeding?

That’s not support.
That’s disconnection.

Because feeding a baby is not just about getting milk in.
It’s one of the primary ways babies feel safe, regulated, and attached.

Eye contact.
Touch.
Presence.

That’s how a baby’s nervous system learns:
“I’m safe. I’m cared for. I’m not alone.”

With a robot, there’s No warmth. No responsiveness. No human attunement.

We cannot automate something that is fundamentally biological.

Yes use tools when you need them.
But replacing human interaction during one of the most regulating moments of a baby’s day

I just think this poor baby…hopefully our world is not going to implement this 😰🙈🫠
