I’m breaking my social media hiatus for this one 🐾
This is Muffin. She’s a very special girl to me. I treated her sister Oreo, who so many of you loved, a few years ago before her passing. Recently Muff’s mom started noticing her having signs of neck pain. She brought her to the vet where they performed chest & abdominal X-rays. I told her mom she needed to go back and have them retaken. They went back and requested cervical X-rays, specifically. X-rays were redone, but only of her thoracic, lumbar, and pelvic regions. The doctor reported that there was no narrowing of the disc space which was “good”. I again told her mom she needed to go back for cervical imaging. Finally, after three visits, they managed to get cervical X-rays and it was noted that IVDD was present. Muff’s owner told them she would be seeing a chiropractor and treating the dog conservatively. She was then informed that chiropractors “never know what they’re doing”. It’s interesting how after one adjustment Muffin’s mom reported that she was feeling SO much better.
No owner should ever be shamed by a professional for seeking out another opinion or alternative care. Do what is best for your pets. You know them better than anyone else ❤️
