This month we celebrated Dr Seuss week. We held a spirit week and each day we read a book written by Dr Seuss. The residents thoroughly enjoyed reading and learning about Dr Seuss. 📕

Yesterday, we observed National Chip and Dip Day with Rob from Vital Caring. We gained insight into the historical origins of chips. We asked the residents' their preferred types of chips, and corn or tortilla chips were a favorite. We extend our gratitude to Rob for providing the delicious afternoon snack.

We went on a outing to Reid Park Zoo for Senior Citizen Day. A great day in the sun and enjoying the animals. The Giraffe encounter was our favorite. 🦒

We appreciate it when family members join our community and participate in activities with our residents. Special thanks to Debra for hosting a crocheting and knitting class! We had a great time and truly valued your company and companionship. We enjoyed it immensely and so did she, that next month she will be visiting again! Thank you Debra! We look forward to it. ❤️

🍀Aim for the Leprechauns and our Environmental Services Director. 😬
Our residents showed off their skills by aiming and striking down the Leprechauns. Those foam nerf bullets couldn’t knock down Richard though. Safe to say he is unharmed and doing well 😂

Happy St Patrick’s Day from all of us at Catalina Springs 🍀.

We had a wonderful time at our St Patrick’s Day celebration this afternoon. We had green floats, assorted themed desserts, learned about Irish traditions, as well as trivia questions and music. One of our residents who is Irish also sang us a Irish song 💚

We would like to extend our gratitude to our Events Committee for their assistance with setup and cleanup. Special thanks to Aria Hospice and Comfort Care and Agape Hospice & Palliative Care for joining us and bringing in some of the delicious desserts. 💚

We extend our sincerest gratitude to Steve from Love Thy Neighbor Ministries for the generous donation of blankets, quilts, beanies, clothing protectors, and Bible protectors. We went on an outing to pick up the donations and loved the beautiful scenery we saw on the way. Each item was handmade with love by the volunteers at Love Thy Neighbor Ministries. Our entire community has been profoundly blessed by this kind gesture. We would like to express our heartfelt appreciation from everyone at Catalina Springs ❤️.

🪏 Yesterday was National Plant a Flower Day and we did it in the best way! Our Gardening Committee cleaned out our garden and planted the new flowers we got. They did an amazing job. We have so many experienced gardeners who knew exactly what to do. 🪴
It looks beautiful and just in time for them to bloom for spring season. 🌼
Special thanks to our Environmental Services Director Richard and our Lifestyle Department for joining in and making it a wonderful day of gardening for the residents 🧑‍🌾

🌼 We went on an outing to Home Depot to pick new flowers for our garden. The residents all chose a flower they would like to be in the garden. 🌺
While out we got to see turtles and fish! Eddie said it made him think of our tortoise Tortellini, who should be fully out of hibernation soon! 🐢
Next time while in the community, be sure to stop by both courtyards. Adobe for the garden, and Pueblo for the tortoise.

🖼️ We did a presentation on traditional Talavera Art and were able to examine some samples before creating our own artwork. What a fun project!
