Activity: Crafts, Building Christmas Float, art
Story: Busy week. Resident put their talents to work this past week. From Paper Mache to drawing and painting. Preparing for the Christmas Parade Float. The theme this year was Christmas Movies. So we decide to do the classic Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. Residents had such a good time and being so creative. Some residents came out to help assist putting the float together.
Proud to say with all this hard work Americare Osage Nursing float took 2nd place!

Activity: Crafts engaging in creative activities can boost happiness and a sense of life satisfaction. Pet therapy by Rebel. Pet therapy can lead to improved moods, reduced feelings of loneliness and depression. It was such a nice afternoon, we headed outside with Rebel as he rolled around in the grass enjoying the weather and all the attention. While residents listened to music and worked on our up coming Christmas float décor.
Story: Our morning kicked off with crafts. Everyone was enjoying getting creative and making their own projects to show off to others. After lunch we had a visit from Rebel who comes in to visit residents. Got to hear about one resident telling her story of rescuing a puppy the same breed as Rebel and how she got her to ride on a motorcycle.

Activity: Manicures, nail art work, relaxing music
Story: Just a little pampering goes along ways. Resident look forward to manicures and coming up with new color combos and nail art work designs. As residents all gather around the table and socialize and show off their new nail designs with the music playing. Pampering helps lower stress levels, which can improve physical and mental health. It provides a chance to relax and de-stress, which can lead to greater happiness and inner peace.

Activity: Resident enjoy an educational zoo trip today. While residents gathered to have lunch at the zoo we discussed about the animals and all the beautiful plants and flowers around the zoo. The animals were all active and the birds were chirping.
Story: They were learning stations setup at different exhibits that told all about the animals and some info about the trees and plants that were also in the exhibits. Residents really engaged in the info. And reminiscing about different zoo’s they had been too.

Activity: Residents enjoyed a afternoon outside with children blowing bubbles and playing ball. Residents liked watching the children ride around on their bikes and showing off for the residents. Residents reminisced about they days they road bikes or even about teaching their own children how to ride a bike.
Story: The residents have known these children since newborn babies and have gotten to watch them grown. The lively presence of children can motivate residents to be more active, providing a welcome change of pace and something to look forward to.

Activity: Celebrated 100th Birthday
Story: Ethel was born in Sept 16 ,1925. Ethel attended and graduated from school in Harveyville Kansas.
She was raised as a farm girl. She canned food, gardening and sewing. She enjoys reminiscing about her family and her life. She has been looking forward to this huge milestone in her life. And loves telling sharing her age. Her favorite pass time is snacking on lays classic potato chips.
We would like to thank everyone for sending cards and those who came to participated in Ethel's big day. As she celebrated her 100th Birthday with family and friends as well with her peers here at ONC. Thank you to Frito Lays for sending her a gift basket and 100 bags of classic potato chips for her birthday. Which are her all time favorite snack.
