Children living with a parent who has a substance use disorder face documented risks:
behavioral problems
disrupted home stability
educational challenges
emotional distress
increased risk of developing their own substance use disorders

Addiction treatment isn't just about the person using. It's about preventing harm that ripples through generations. Early intervention matters specifically because of what these patterns show us about long-term impact.

In the days following the tornado in Hillsdale, we had the opportunity to spend time alongside first responders and volunteers working to support the community.

Our team brought food and drinks, but what stood out most was the effort happening all around us. People helping without being asked. Long days of neighbors taking care of one another.

We’re thankful to be part of a community that responds the way this one does.

A Georgetown University study tracking people with untreated addiction found annual costs averaging $43,200 per person when you factor in lost wages, healthcare, and criminal justice expenses.

For context, out-of-pocket outpatient addiction treatment averages $3,100 per year. It’s usually more like $0 once you include insurance coverage.

The math is straightforward.

Treatment costs less than continuing to use. Much less.

We're seeing more people enter treatment for kratom dependence than ever before. And they're often relieved to discover they're not the only one.

There are detox protocols. There are people who understand. There are options beyond white-knuckling through withdrawal alone.

If you're feeling trapped by something that was supposed to help, you're exactly who we're here for. Reach out today: (913) 755-4357

"I thought it was just a plant. I didn't think I could actually be addicted."

We hear this a lot. People entering treatment for kratom and 7-OH are surprised when their withdrawal symptoms mirror those of traditional opioids.

What you're feeling is real, it's documented, and it's exactly what treatment protocols are designed to address. You don't have to figure this out alone.

We are proud to officially welcome Renewal Springs Detox as the newest member of the Pathways family.

Renewal Springs expands our ability to serve individuals and families at one of the most critical moments in the recovery journey: the very beginning.

Renewal Springs now stands alongside fellow Pathways programs including Sunflower Recovery Center, Country Road Recovery Center, Holland Pathways, and Serenity Park Recovery Center. Together, these programs form a unified network of care committed to raising the standard of addiction treatment across the Midwest and beyond.

This addition means more access. More clinical support. More continuity from detox through residential, extended care, and beyond.

The shift from powder to concentrate isn't just about convenience. It's about brain chemistry.

When 7-hydroxymitragynine (7-OH) is isolated and concentrated, it acts more like a pharmaceutical than a plant. The natural balance that made traditional kratom milder is gone.

What's left is potent, fast-acting, and surprisingly hard to walk away from.

Struggling to quit something that was supposed to help? We can help. (913) 755-4357
