We are excited to recognize 𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐬𝐢 𝐋𝐚𝐦𝐛, 𝐑𝐍, 𝐁𝐒𝐍 as the "New Team Member of the Quarter" award winner!

Chelsi joined CCH at the end of October as our Infection Control/Employee Health Nurse, right in the midst of Employee Influenza vaccination season. From day one, she jumped in with a positive attitude, an outgoing and fun personality, and a willingness to take on challenges with a smile.

Here is what Chelsi's peers had to say about her:

"Infection Control with an infectious smile! Chelsi has a permanent smile and a “go get them” attitude every day that I see her. She is always cheerful and approaches each task with determination and satisfaction, thinking outside of the box and listening for other ideas to consider. Chelsi always has a smile on her face. She always greets people in the hallways."

"Chelsi always has a bright and cheerful smile every time you see her. She has such a wonderful and fun personality and fits in so well here at CCH. She is so fun and bubbly and has such a wonderful attitude every time you see her! She deserves the New Employee of the Quarter award hands down!"

"Chelsi hit the ground running and jumped right into taking on the employee health duties. She had to start as flu season hit us and has done a great job. She always has a smile on her face and isn’t afraid to ask for help."

"Chelsi joined our team at the end of October, right in the midst of Employee Influenza Vaccine season. This is a challenging time, but Chelsi had a positive attitude and contributed to helping us meet our goal! It is a lot to take on during the first week of work, but Chelsi did it with a smile."

"Working with Chelsi, she is always very positive and has a bright attitude!"

"Chelsi has come in and done an amazing job. She’s got such a great personality and brings a fun, uplifting energy to CCH. What a welcome addition to our hospital!"

"Chelsi is a breath of fresh air. She is always upbeat, full of laughter, and smiles. She can brighten any day with her big personality and even bigger heart. She has never met a stranger and is always ready to talk someone’s ear off. Clarke County Hospital is a much better place with her in it."

Chelsi truly exemplifies our ASPIRE values and has quickly become a valued member of the CCH team. Please join us in celebrating Chelsi on this well-deserved achievement!

At Clarke County Hospital, we’re committed to helping you stay healthy. Learn the simple steps you can take to reduce your risk of cervical cancer.

✅ 𝐌𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐚 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡𝐲 𝐋𝐢𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐲𝐥𝐞: A healthy lifestyle can help support your immune system and lower your risk of cervical cancer. This includes eating a balanced diet, staying physically active, avoiding to***co products, limiting alcohol use, and managing stress. Making small, consistent healthy choices can have long-term benefits.

✅ 𝐊𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐅𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐲 𝐇𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲: Understanding your family’s health history is important. While most cervical cancers are caused by HPV, sharing information about cancer diagnoses or gynecologic health issues in your family can help your healthcare provider determine the right screening schedule and preventive care for you.

✅ 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐇𝐏𝐕 𝐕𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: The HPV (human papillomavirus) vaccine helps protect against the virus responsible for most cervical cancer cases. It is recommended for pre-teens ages 11–12, but vaccination is also available for teens and adults up to age 45. Getting vaccinated is a safe and effective way to reduce your risk.

✅ 𝐆𝐞𝐭 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐫 𝐒𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬: Routine cervical cancer screenings, such as Pap tests and HPV tests, can detect changes early, often before cancer develops. Regular screenings are one of the most effective ways to prevent cervical cancer and are recommended even if you feel healthy.

Talk with your primary care provider about your screening and prevention options today. Early detection and prevention save lives.

𝐽𝑎𝑛𝑢𝑎𝑟𝑦 26 - 𝐽𝑎𝑛𝑢𝑎𝑟𝑦 30

We are excited to celebrate Activity Professionals Week, a time to honor the dedicated individuals who enrich the lives of patients and residents in nursing homes, hospices, and hospitals.

We are ESPECIALLY proud to recognize Sherry Shields, who has been a cornerstone of our Activity Coordination team for over 20 years. Sherry describes her role as one that “𝑒𝑛𝑔𝑎𝑔𝑒𝑠 𝑠𝑘𝑖𝑙𝑙𝑒𝑑 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑒𝑥𝑡𝑒𝑛𝑑𝑒𝑑 𝑠𝑤𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑝𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑒𝑛𝑡𝑠 𝑤𝑖𝑡ℎ 𝑝𝑢𝑟𝑝𝑜𝑠𝑒𝑓𝑢𝑙 𝑒𝑚𝑜𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛𝑎𝑙, 𝑝ℎ𝑦𝑠𝑖𝑐𝑎𝑙, 𝑠𝑜𝑐𝑖𝑎𝑙, 𝑠𝑝𝑖𝑟𝑖𝑡𝑢𝑎𝑙, 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑖𝑛𝑡𝑒𝑙𝑙𝑒𝑐𝑡𝑢𝑎𝑙 𝑜𝑝𝑝𝑜𝑟𝑡𝑢𝑛𝑖𝑡𝑖𝑒𝑠 𝑡𝑜 𝑒𝑛𝑟𝑖𝑐ℎ 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑖𝑟 𝑞𝑢𝑎𝑙𝑖𝑡𝑦 𝑜𝑓 𝑙𝑖𝑓𝑒.” What Sherry values most about her role at CCH is the opportunity to interact with patients and their families and bring smiles to their faces each day.

Thank you, Sherry, for your endless positivity, dedication, and the joy you bring to everyone around you. You truly make a difference!
