A skilled nursing & long-term care social worker is a specialized professional focused on the psychosocial well-being of residents. They act as a critical bridge between residents, their families, and the healthcare team to ensure a holistic approach to senior care.

There are many key components that go into their daily agenda such as assessments, care planning, advocacy, adjustments & counseling, family mediation & support, discharge planning, administrative & regulatory compliance, social engagement, & team backup.

A Business Office Manager (BOM) in a nursing home or skilled nursing facility is the financial and administrative anchor of the building. Their primary goal is to ensure the facility remains financially healthy while helping residents and families navigate the complexities of long-term care financial aspects.

The BOM’s job entails revenue cycle management, payer coordination, authorizations, A/R & Collections, A/P, banking, resident trust fund management, reconciling census, medicaid applications, regulatory compliance, customer service, and so much more.
