The Nancy Hanks Lincoln Historical Association serves to promote and protect the history and genealogy of Nancy Hanks Lincoln and the descendants of this historical family. DNA has proven the correct genealogy of Nancy Hanks Lincoln is she is a descendant of the Joseph Hanks family, her mother being Lucy Hanks. We welcome anyone to join, who is interested in Nancy Hanks, her son, Abraham Lincoln, and history of this family.

Working on book #3, with very interesting chapters on the history of slavery, and Lucy Hanks Sparrow, Nancy Hanks mother. Our Ceape St. house is looking very nice. Just need some of our members to send pictures of themselves, ancestors, to frame and add to the walls there. Check out the Lincoln Cathedral in Lincolnshire, England. wow, what a beautiful building, built in 1135. Send pictures!

Our Association may have a home! I have an empty rental home, that's just the right size for us to use as our home, and put up historical displays of our family history, to use as exhibits for the community and schools. Would like some opinions on how everyone thinks about this idea.

The cover is William Henry Hanks, his father being Absalom Hanks, first cousin of Nancy Hanks Lincoln. He is holding Charlette Hanks, his daughter. William served in the entire Siege of Vicksburg, during the Civil War. They lived in Fairbury, Illinois, and were farmers.

The Family Tree DNA /Nancy Hanks Project, has posted its results, on Oct. 21, 2015. Nancy Hanks Lincoln has a rare X1c DNA marker, in which her mother, Lucy Hanks, and grandmother, Anne Lee Hanks had, as well. It has been found in the female descendants of Lucy's Sparrow daughter's descendants. The controversy is over. Nancy Hanks Lincoln is the daughter of Lucy Hanks, no Shipley or Abraham Hanks theory fits this DNA profile. So the Abraham Lincoln's Hanks Family Genealogy books, written by Vicky Reany Paulson, are the ponly source for the correct genealogy of Nancy Hanks Lincoln.
