Ice skating was one of my favorite things growing up. It was my sport. At one point I thought as long as I had my skates and could be on the ice that would be all I would ever need. My first career choice was always figure skater and or figure skating coach.

So much of childhood, and life really, isn’t about the outcome.
It’s about the experience and the joy of learning something new and discovering what you’re capable of along the way.

Hearing her ask me to go skating again is the absolute best!

First week back after family leave hit a little harder than I expected. Some days I am so worn out — not for any dramatic reason, just the heaviness of transition, more responsibility, and the weird nights where I’m awake even when both kids are finally sleeping. (Why is that a thing?!)

But tonight I’m choosing to soak in the quiet. A few minutes in my sauna, time to breathe, to reset my nervous system, to remember that gratitude isn’t just for the big moments / it’s found in tiny slices of peace and presence.

Here’s to honoring rest, even when life is full and loud.
Here’s to restoring ourselves in the little ways that actually matter.
