CONSTRUCTION UPDATES —

Thank you for everyone’s patience and flexibility during our parking lot re-paving. The project is complete and the parking lot looks great! It’s nice to see those lines for parking spaces again!

Our laundry project has begun. MVC currently does all laundry in our old building. We are building a laundry room on the back part of our building. This project will take several months to complete; hopefully by June!

On Thursday, November 6th, they will be connecting the gas line. This will have an impact on our dietary department. On that day lunch will be limited to cold sandwiches, soup, and salads only. Please plan accordingly if you plan to visit that day.

HALLOWEEN AT MVC — DATE CHANGE!

Trick or Treating is this Saturday, November 1st from 10 am to 11 am. Thank you to everyone who donated candy!

ANNUAL CRAFT FAIR —

Saturday, November 22, 2024 from 9 am to 2 pm
This is the biggest fundraiser of the year for our recreation department and funds raised are used throughout the year to cover many “extras”. Here’s what we need:
• Baked Goods! – they can be dropped off on Friday, November 21st or first thing Saturday morning, November 22nd.
• Come and shop and support our vendors; not only do we have vendors from the community, we have a few residents tables and staff tables as well.
• Spread the word to our friends and family!
• If you are a “crafter” and would like to rent a table, please reach out to Susan Pelletier.

HOLIDAY MEAL —

Mark your calendars as we have begun planning for our annual Holiday Meal. This is open to families of our residents as long as you RSVP. This year’s special meal will be on Wednesday, December 10, 2025. We are planning to do 2 seating’s this year in order to better accommodate everyone. More details to come!

ADOPT A RESIDENT FOR CHRISTMAS —

We are once again planning to have our “Adopt a resident” at Christmas. We know that many of you would love to do something to “help” around the holidays. We would love 100% of our residents covered this year! Everyone will have a gift under the tree on Christmas. Here’s how it works:
• We will give you the name of a resident (or 2) to shop for Christmas along with some suggestions on what they want or need.
• You purchase and wrap the gift and label it with their first and last name and signed from “Santa”.
• Items will need to be returned no later than Friday, December 19th.
• We will open up sign ups soon! (We are not quite ready yet!)

PARKING LOT PAVING UPDATE —

Paving continues, and as they move around the building, the parking pattern will continue to change! We apologize for how confusing this has been so far!
• Please do not drive into the normal entrance. Pull into County Farm Road (just before the nursing home on the left if you are coming from the traffic circle on Rt. 28)
• Turn right off County Farm Road to drive behind the nursing home. You will no longer be able to access the fire road that is directly behind the building. There will be a new road roped off close to the old nursing home. Please use that new road to access parking on the grass.
• You will drive all the way down and access the parking from the side parking lot that is newly paved. We ask that you don’t park in this area, just use it to drive into the grassy parking area.
• Parking is marked out and available to visitors on the back lawn area.
• Enter through the back door!
• Please do not try to enter or exit through the front doors.
• We will continue to update you as things change!

HALLOWEEN AT MVC — DATE CHANGE!

We have a couple of Halloween events happening this month. We need your help to make them successful!
• Trick or Treat – Due to our current parking situation, we feel it’s best to postpone this event. The new date is, Saturday, November 1st, from 10 am to 11 am – Bring your children/grandchildren dressed in costume for some safe trick or treating. We need donations of candy in order to make this event happen. Candy can be dropped off at the front office or given to anyone in recreation.
• Costume Day – Join us in dressing up for Halloween on Friday, October 31st. We encourage staff, residents, and visitors. Right after lunch beginning at 1 pm there will be a Halloween costume parade going unit to unit!
