🌿 NEW EVENT ANNOUNCEMENT 🌿
I’m excited to share that Growing with Intention will be popping up next Saturday, February 28th at Mind N Heart in Blue Island for a truly joyful night—Disney Karaoke Night.

I’ll be bringing a curated collection of bonsai, intentional plant designs, and a few living pieces meant to help you slow down, breathe, and reconnect. Whether you’re looking for a plant companion, a moment of grounding, or simply want to explore the artistry of bonsai, I’d love to see you stop by the table and say hello.

Come sing your favorite Disney classics, support small businesses, and soak in a night filled with creativity and community. The space is intimate with limited capacity, so early RSVP is encouraged—$5 online or $10 at the door.

Every online RSVP also enters you into a raffle, with prizes announced before the end of the night. Plus, there will be a Disney‑themed drink menu to keep the magic flowing.

As we commemorate Black History Month and the contributions of black people in America, I’d like to focus again on our community and local history. I’ve spoken extensively with the head of the Plainfield Historical Society (Michael Lambert - our modern day Miles Hartong), about encouraging our black residents to volunteer and get involved with PHS’ efforts to rehab this house at Quality Hill which is documented as part of the Underground Railroad. The Historical Society owns the home and is already leading efforts to restore it. Wouldn’t it be wonderful to have this home restored where this story can be told? This is Plainfield history and this is black history. Please volunteer!

H**p is still federally legal. Cute cafes like , will no longer be able to operate. I know there’s a lot of us here that have popped into one of the cafés and grabbed a drink or a baked treat and been really excited that we finally had the right to purchase this instead of alcohol. I’ve personally witnessed so many tourists happy they chose to come to Chicago for vacation so they could relax this way! 12 Alderman are holding the city of Chicago hostage and no one really knows why. 🤷‍♀️ It’s not about children, we have been holding ourselves accountable because there are no laws to prevent underage serving. Growers, retailer and infusers have been attempting to work with cities and state government. They don’t have any interest in working WITH us. Please scan the QR code in the post, call the Mayors office or send an email. Better yet, do all 3!! I’m grateful to have a platform to be able to inform people, so let’s do this and take action!!! I am no longer rolling over and dying just because someone says I should.
