🌟 Big Shoutout Time 🌟
The Mental Health & Wellness Team is thrilled to nominate Sara Dampf and Brooke Windey for We Care Award!

The entire IS&T team plays a vital role in our organization’s success, and Sara and Brooke recently went above and beyond. They spearheaded the transition of the Patient Characteristic Survey (PCS) from a paper-based process (700+ surveys!) to an electronic workflow within Meditech—saving time, reducing errors, and streamlining operations.

Their responsiveness, collaboration, and commitment to innovation truly embody our We Care mantra. We are grateful for their technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and calm approach under pressure. Thank you for making a tremendous impact! 💙

💪 From Saving Lives to Breaking Records!

By day, Stephanie Canale, MHA, BS, RRT, leads our Respiratory Therapy team with skill and compassion. By early mornings, she’s a World Champion Powerlifter!

This October, Stephanie stepped onto the world stage, lifting 465 lbs. in the Iron Maiden competition—all while weighing just 132 lbs. Incredible, right?

Her message to women everywhere:
"Find time for yourself and don’t feel guilty—you deserve it."

Join us in celebrating Stephanie’s strength, dedication, and inspiration. 👏

✨ The Power of Partnership in Action ✨
When organizations come together with a shared heart for the community, incredible things happen. We are deeply grateful to our friends at Constellation Energy and the James A. FitzPatrick Clean Energy Center for their generosity and compassion in supporting the 100+ children and families we serve through Oswego Health Care Management.

Through their employee-led initiative, Project Warmth, they collected mittens, hats, socks—and even toys—to help bring comfort, warmth, and joy to the patients and families who need it most. 💙🧤🧸

Oswego Health Care Management isn’t a place—it’s an extensive network of services supporting Medicaid recipients throughout our community. And partnerships like this remind us that We Care is more than a mantra—it’s a promise, proven when caring organizations unite around a common purpose.

It truly takes all of us to care for a community. Thank you, Constellation Energy and James A. FitzPatrick Clean Energy Center, for being such meaningful partners in this important work. 🤝💙

Thank you to the students of Mexico High School for taking it upon yourselves to spread holiday cheer to the residents of Seneca Hill Manor, our skilled nursing facility. Your beautiful, heartfelt cards brought warmth, joy, and meaningful connection to those who received them.

Acts like this truly reflect our We Care values and highlight the power of collaboration between our community and those we serve. Today was especially meaningful as our President & CEO, Michael Backus, had the honor of returning to his alma mater to accept these cards on behalf of our residents—an incredible reminder that when we come together, the impact is lasting.

Together, we care. Thank you for your kindness, thoughtfulness, and for making this season brighter for so many.

These products will be available at our Center in Fulton, as well as through our school-based therapy programs in Oswego, Fulton, and Hannibal.

At Oswego Health, We Care—not just for your health, but for the meaningful, everyday needs that help our patients feel supported, respected, and empowered. Thank you, Excellus BlueCross BlueShield, for partnering with us to make a real difference in the lives of the youth we serve.

🎉 Celebrating Leadership from Within at Oswego Health 🎉

We are proud to announce the promotion of Nicole Lewis, RN, BSN, to Director of Med Surg at Oswego Health!

Since joining our team in 2018 as a Graduate Nurse, Nicole has grown alongside our organization—building her career step by step on the Med Surg Unit. With a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Utica College and a Bachelor of Science in Education from Syracuse University, Nicole brings a unique blend of clinical expertise, communication, and leadership to everything she does.

Nicole’s journey—from bedside nurse to Admission/Discharge RN, Senior RN, Clinical Practice Advisor, Assistant Manager, and now Director—reflects her deep understanding of patient care and unit operations. Her hands-on experience and commitment to quality directly translate into stronger teams, safer care, and better outcomes for our patients.

At Oswego Health, we believe some of our strongest leaders are those who rise from within—leaders who know our mission, our people, and our community. Nicole’s promotion is a powerful example of how investing in our own talent strengthens patient-centered care across our health system.

Please join us in congratulating Nicole on this well-deserved achievement! 👏

🎉 Congratulations to Todd Davison! 🎉

Please join us in celebrating Todd Davison from the Respiratory Therapy team in the PFT lab for receiving the We Care Award!

One of our patients recently shared their experience, saying:
"I couldn't ask for a better person to conduct my test. He explained everything clearly and took the time to answer all my questions. He was very patient and never rushed me."

Thank you, Todd, for your dedication, compassion, and commitment to providing exceptional care. We’re proud to have you on our team! 👏💙

💙 We Care — and not just about your health. 💙

Each holiday season, our Oswego Health family comes together for a tradition rooted in compassion and generosity: Jennifer’s Elves 🎄✨

Jennifer was an LPN whose kindness quietly spoke volumes. Without fanfare or recognition, she personally purchased holiday gifts each year for her patients and for youth seen in our mental health and school-based clinics. After her passing, we knew her legacy of compassion had to live on.

Today, Jennifer’s Elves continues to brighten the holidays for local youth. Thanks to the generosity of our staff and community, families were able to visit, hand-pick gifts for their children, and place them under the tree — creating moments of joy, dignity, and hope. 🎁

From Legos and games to clothing and gift cards, every donation helped remind a child that they are seen, valued, and cared for.

💙 This is who we are at Oswego Health — caring for our community in ways that go far beyond our walls.
