On Saturday, I was injured in a ATV accident when our side-by-side tipped and my left hand got crushed by the roof. Had I not put my hand out, instinctively trying to break the fall, we would have been able to tip the machine back up and continue on.
After being transported to a hospital in Wisconsin, I was transferred to North Memorial Hospital for the surgery and initial recovery. I felt well cared for there and had family and friends supporting me as well.
Skip this paragraph if you do not care for the gory details. The bones in my hand going out to the outer three fingers were broken and severely displaced. The palm of my hand was peeled up from my wrist toward my fingers. Fortunately no arteries, nerves or tendons were lacerated. I had surgery from a plastic surgeon specializing in hands. He put in eight pens to hold the bones in place while they heal. He cleaned the area under my palm in multiple surgeries and placed a material to seal the wound by my wrist and thumb. When the pins are removed in about four weeks, the surgeon is planning to do a skin graft to repair the area by my wrist and thumb.
This event will be sort of a case study for me with my Healing Touch practice. This time, focusing on me being the recipient of the work. I work on myself and had a Healing Touch session from a dear friend before my last surgery. The session put me in a nice relaxed state and I felt well prepared for surgery. It also put my wife into a nice relaxed state as well, which she needed.
After coming home from the hospital yesterday, another practitioner/friend came and did a session with me. I had some emotional releases, and my pain was much less when the session was done.
I am so very grateful for all the love, support, caring, and concern from those around me. I definitely have healing to do, but I feel that it is going well so far and that I will make a full recovery.
My healing work is not just something that I do. It is a part of who I am! Though I am temporarily unable to do the healing sessions for others, I anticipate being able to do the work again before I am fully recovered physically.
