Kansas Department for Children and Families will begin taking 2026 LIEAP applications January 20th!!

DCF has been notified that federal funding was approved for the 2026 Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LIEAP) season. LIEAP helps eligible Kansas households pay a portion of their primary home heating costs during the winter season with a one-time per year benefit.

Applications will NOT be accepted until 8 a.m. on Jan. 20, 2026, and must be received by DCF by 5 p.m. on March 31, 2026.

♻️ Give Your Kitchen Items a Second Life this Thursday December 18 at the Johnson County Northeast Office in Mission, just off Martway. 6000 Lamar Ave, Mission, KS 66202 from 10AM-2 PM.
Do you have pots, pans, dishes, or utensils you no longer use? Instead of letting them head to the landfill, consider giving them a new purpose.

On Thursday, December 18, we’re collecting gently used kitchen items for Kitchen Restore — a program that helps families in need build functional kitchens so they can prepare healthy meals at home.

What may be taking up space in your cupboard can become an essential tool for a family starting fresh. By donating, you’re not only reducing waste — you’re helping create stability, dignity, and opportunity through something as simple as a meal cooked at home.
