Our hearts go out to our mmj family ♥️♥️

The community was incredibly dismayed and saddened to learn of the passing of two longtime Missouri cannabis advocates over the weekend, Ayden Markum and Daniel “Waxy Brown” Jones.

Ayden—through the work of his parents, Ashley and Chris, and the foundation they created, Ayden’s Alliance—served as a poster child of the medical benefits of cannabis in the Show-Me State. A fighter his whole life, he finally succumbed on July 4. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Markum family.

Daniel “Waxy Brown” Jones was always the loudest and proudest cannabis advocate in any room he was in. Waxy never stopped preaching about how cannabis could help veterans like himself, and touting ma*****na as plant medicine—ultimately on his beloved Rolla radio show—long before Missourians ever legalized medical ma*****na in 2018. We were saddened to hear of his passing over the weekend.

Both of these activists changed the way Missourians view cannabis and were longtime warriors in the cause to treat cannabis as medicine. You can help support the Markum Family in Ayden’s passing at the following GoFundMe link: https://gofund.me/4a992c94
