🚨 Weekend Snowstorm Update 🚨
A significant and potentially tricky snow event is forecasted for our area this weekend. Current guidance indicates the storm will arrive in two distinct waves, with the overall event potentially lasting up to 36 hours, spanning most of the weekend.
🌨 Storm Overview
First Wave:
Expected to begin Friday evening between 8:00 PM and midnight, producing approximately 1–2 inches of snow.
Saturday:
A lull is expected during the daytime hours, with occasional flurries and minimal additional accumulation.
Second Wave:
If it holds together as forecasted, the second wave will be the primary snow producer, beginning Saturday evening and continuing into the early hours of Sunday morning, bringing an additional 4–6 inches of snow.
➡️ Total snowfall amounts are currently forecasted at 4–8 inches.
⚠️ Important Considerations
• Temperatures will be brutally cold, with actual air temperatures below 0°F and wind chills in the negative teens.
• Snow is expected to be dry and fluffy, which will aid removal but does not eliminate travel impacts.
• Due to the dangerous cold, we are working to limit prolonged exposure for shovel and hand crews—especially overnight—to ensure their safety.
While the first wave Friday night may impact travel, accumulations should remain manageable. The second wave will be the primary snow event — Bundle Up, Cover your head, ears & neck!
