25 Years ⭐

As Village Shalom celebrates 25 years on the Helzberg Campus for Jewish Living this year, we also celebrate an employee who has been with the Village since we opened this campus in 2000. As a special honor, Charley Helzberg presented the 25 Year Award to Nazira Hussaini. From working in the kitchen, to being a CNA, and later working her way up to her current role as our nursing house supervisor we have watched Nazira grow along with our Village community. As a heartfelt thank you for her 25 years of continuous service, she was awarded $1,000 and our 25 Year Award.😊

Our 2025 Champion of Culture Change Award goes to....... Monique Brown!!

The Annual $1,000 Allen & Gloria Block award was presented to Monique Brown, our central supply clerk. While she might have a central role in keeping our Village stocked on medical supplies, overall she is a person that is willing to help anywhere on campus. Being that Monique is also a CNA you can find her working the floor on various neighborhoods with a resident first approach, she knows the residents incredibly well, and provides great patient centered care to everyone she serves. We could not be prouder to present Monique with this well deserved award.

We are proud to announce our Joseph Eleanor Wolff Award winner for their excellence in caregiving. This award was set up in 2007 by Eleanor's three sons to honor the exceptional care their mother received at Village Shalom. Viktoriya Ahmad, was recently awarded this block award as our December recipient.

Viktoriya, a weekend caregiver in Wallace, exemplifies the true spirit of the Wolff Award, which is all about empowering our caregivers to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those they serve. Viktoriya is more than just a caregiver; she’s a shining example of compassion, dedication, and attention to detail. She actively seeks out opportunities to spend quality time with her residents, ensuring they never feel rushed. Whether it’s showering, doing nails, tidying rooms, or changing linens, Viktoriya makes those moments special—moments where she demonstrates her genuine care and attention. 💛

We are SO proud to have her here in our Village.

Last night, residents from assisted living and skilled neighborhoods joined together for a holiday light ride around our beautiful Kansas City community. We LOVE seeing these smiling faces enjoying a wonderful outing together! 😁

Students from the Hyman Brand Hebrew Academy (HBHA) visited the Village this morning to perform a Hanukkah concert for our residents! 💙 🕎

We love seeing people of all ages coming together to share in the holiday spirit, here in our Village!! ☺️ This will be another busy holiday season, and we look forward to more festive programs to come. 💛

Thanksgiving Dinner in the Village was such a beautiful event this year. 💛Seeing our entire Village come together to celebrate with our family & friends will always be one of our favorite holiday traditions. Our dining rooms were packed and our hearts overflowing with all the special moments created. Thank you to everyone that came out to celebrate with us, to our team members that facilitated the event, and all of our volunteers that helped make this night so special. 🙏💙🦃
