b.smith is if Mary Poppins had a hatchback. Can you imagine tapping into this much love? She’s here at Yoga Moderne to teach Kids! yoga almost every day at Yoga Moderne. Her command station on wheels—ready to pivot on a moment’s notice to make the most of her hour with your kiddos—reveals her heart’s deep, and maybe limitless, kindness.

is the best mother we have ever met and we’ve met a few. Her newest passion is in crafting tween yoga classes for our special Double Digits classes every month. Do you know what she says to us when she finishes a class with your inbetweeners? Something like “I can’t believe this is my life.” Ellen walks in awesome gratitude for the opportunity to meet kiddos’ needs. Ellen has also started working with special family populations in very small groups. Message us if this sounds like something yours could use.
bankss is undaunted. A school age music teacher at Stanley Elementary, Angela manages to soothe our largest classes each week, making lively time for parents to practice across the hall. We are excited for her to welcome her own peanut into the world (and to meet her studio family) very soon.

🎵 COMMUNITY SOUND BATH 🎵

Mark your calendars for the First Wednesday each month to join us here for Community Sound Bath. Even if you have joined us before, each offering is unique so consider giving each month a new try!

🗓️ WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 5

Open to anyone, the sound bath experience is an immersive meditation using instruments like drums, rattles, and singing bowls to guide you into deep relaxation and healing. Rooted in shamanic practices, the sound bath helps you connect with the natural world and your higher self, clearing obstacles and restoring balance for inner peace and renewal.

Our energy body is like an instrument, and just like you can tune an instrument back to its harmonious state, you can tune the energy of your own body back to its harmonious state.

Please note, essential oils, sage, or incense may be regularly used during this practice.

Wear any comfortable clothing. If accessible to you, you will participate by lying on the floor with optional support (blankets, bolsters, sandbags, eye pillows). Other accommodations are available.

This is free with a suggested love donation amount of $20. To increase or decrease your donation, simply update the price amount yourself. No pressure.

We have a special chance to offer frequent sub opportunities for an RYT 200 with kids teaching certification. With kids classes every single day here, we expect you’ll have at least 2-3 classes to cover each month. ✨ HELLO, WELCOME AND NICE TO MEET YOU ✨

We are so grateful you felt the nudge to improve your health and well-being, and chose to listen, finding us.

We should introduce ourselves. We are an independent, locally-owned, family business and yoga school in South Overland Park, specifically the Stanley/Stilwell community. Our founders and owners, Adrienne and Joey, are from Stilwell and Stanley. We are parents of Stilwell and Blue Valley students, and graduates of BVHS ourselves. It is deeply important to us that your entire family has a chance to practice yoga here with you, even kiddos!

Unlike franchise fitness centers or corporate chains, practicing yoga with us harkens back to the things that make small towns great, combined with the curiosity, inclusivity, and open hospitality that you find abroad.

Yoga is an ancient practice that combines physical exercise, breathing practices, and meditation to achieve a state of union between the body, mind, and spirit. You do not have to be flexible to get started.

Our 30-40 classes each week are set against a stunning backdrop with leading teachers. Yoga here means yoga (not pilates or weightlifting with a dash of woo woo). Our teachers have learned from tradition. We offer yoga in all of its rich forms from kundalini to hatha to yin to ashtanga. We honor the privileged relationship of teacher and student with hands-on adjustments based on consent and opting-in. The student still knows best.

The walls are not lined with mirrors. All bodies are welcomed. The experience here simply cannot be replicated in a gym.

Yoga Moderne is a third space for creating community. It feels as comfortable as a second home. We know your name. Chances are that we’ll offer you a cup of tea too

What is more, we offer kids classes every day at times when adults can take classes across the hallway.

We welcome special groups like sports clubs, troops, book clubs, and families working through change. Trying new things can be hard, but trying them with friends makes it easier.

All mats and supports are available for you free to use. Just come with an open heart and enjoy our interfaith space, governed by kindness and respect.

Our heart 💞 is committed to making space for kids to be kids no matter how quickly they grow!

We know exactly what it is like as parents of four kiddos ages 19-8. Especially during those in-between adulthood years, it felt like the world didn’t welcome our kiddos anywhere. Big kids get some faces from parents of younger kiddos when they play big. And just because their bodies are growing, doesn’t mean adult spaces should be where they get stuck either.

Double Digits comes with a handwritten invitation straight from our hearts as parents to you and your sweet tweens. All double digits kiddos are welcomed.

Community Double Digits Yoga is a special offering for our tween and teen friends who feel ready to graduate from Kids! but aren’t yet sure about joining adult classes.

DONATION ONLY
This is free with a suggested love donation amount of $15. To increase or decrease your donation, simply update the price amount yourself. No pressure.

KNOW BEFORE YOU GO
This beginner-friendly practice is perfect for new tween and teen students. Trying new things can be tough but doing it together in a peer group makes it much easier.

No special clothes are required. It can be nice to have a water bottle. Wear loose, comfortable clothing or something breathable if you do prefer a held in feeling. Socks, even grippy ones, are usually a hassle.

You do not need to buy or bring a yoga mat. We have mats available for free in our studio.

Please try to arrive at least 15 minutes before your class to stow your shoes, phone, and belongings. We remotely lock our studio doors before class begins. You’ll want that time to check in, use the restroom, and find your mat space. Visiting before class or “grounding” taking a restorative posture to begin to withdraw your thoughts is also a BIG part of the experience!
