Dynamic Ability PT

Dynamic Ability PT I’m originally from Victoria, Texas, and my journey into physical therapy has been
shaped by both my passion for sports and my dedication to lifelong learning.

As the owner and sole practitioner at Dynamic Ability PT, I’m dedicated to delivering personalized, one-on-one physical therapy that helps you move with confidence and get back to the life you love. I began my
academic and athletic career at Sam Houston State University, where I walked on to
play college baseball. Later, I transferred to Texas Tech University to complete my bachelors
degree of exe

rcise sports science before pursuing my doctorate of physical therapy. Since moving to Kansas City and starting my career in 2012, I’ve specialized in
outpatient orthopedics and continually sought to expand my knowledge and skills. Certifications:
– Certified Spine Manual Therapist
– Advanced Dry Needling
– Titleist Performance Golf
– Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM)
– Blood Flow Restriction Training
– Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA)

When I am not focused on patient care and physical therapy I enjoy spending time with
my wife and two daughters, playing golf, cheering on Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs,
playing rec league softball, listening to health podcasts, and exercising.

Recovering from a broken foot takes more than rest. It takes the right rehab plan. At Dynamic Ability Physical Therapy in Overland Park, Kansas, I use ankle motion testing, toe movement assessment, and hand held dynamometer strength testing to identify exact weakness and guide recovery. This patient is recovering from a broken foot and had severe weakness in his left foot, so we are building it back step by step.

I had a lot of fun creating the song for this video too.

If you’re dealing with back pain and it feels painful or limited to stand up straight or lean backward, sometimes the right starting point is not forcing more motion. Sometimes it is finding the right input first.

In this video, I used standing back extension isometrics to help calm pain and improve tolerance to movement. She was able to move farther into standing spinal extension right away.

This is not the full treatment plan, but it is a good example of how physical therapy for back pain can sometimes create a quick change and help you move with more confidence.

At Dynamic Ability PT, I help people in Overland Park and the Kansas City area with back pain, neck pain, sports injuries, mobility problems, strength deficits, and movement limitations so they can get back to working out, training, golf, and daily life.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day and happy Spring Break from our family to yours. We’re at Kyoto tonight enjoying hibachi, and our chef has been hilarious and absolutely fantastic. Every time we come here, it’s a great experience.

It got me thinking… I hope my patients feel that same way after working with me at Dynamic Ability PT. My goal is always for people to leave feeling glad they came, well taken care of, and excited to come back.

Wishing everyone a fun, safe, and lucky St. Patrick’s Day. Enjoy the break and make some great memories.

You can’t out-train bad sleep.

In this study, getting less than about 7 hours of sleep was linked to higher phenotypic age across all exercise groups. Exercising more did not seem to overcome the downside of short sleep, and may have looked slightly worse in short sleepers. Around 7 hours looked like the sweet spot in this paper.

This does not prove that exercise causes faster aging. It suggests that when sleep is too low, more exercise may not deliver the benefit people expect.

I made this video for one of my patients after retesting showed his left ankle was weaker than the right.

This is ankle inversion strengthening using manual resistance only. No band, no equipment, just a simple setup that he can do almost anywhere.

Good rehab does not have to be complicated. It just has to be effective and easy enough to actually do.

The benefits of having a Physical Therapist as your friend 😂

Thoracic spine stiffness is one of the biggest contributors to neck pain, shoulder tightness, and limited rotation.

This isn’t just “cracking backs.”
It’s restoring movement where your body actually needs it.

If your mid-back feels stiff, tight, or restricted — let’s figure out why.

Her first time trying Blood Flow Restriction (BFR) training 💪

One of the biggest surprises people have is how challenging this feels using very light weights.

BFR allows us to create a strong muscle stimulus while placing less stress on joints — making it a great option for recovery, strength building, and returning to activity safely.

We use BFR regularly at Dynamic Ability Physical Therapy to help people get stronger without needing heavy loads.

Curious if BFR training could help you?
