Founded on Christian principles, Kansas Palliative & Hospice Care is a locally owned and independently operated organization dedicated to palliative and hospice care. They are focused on exceeding patients’ individual medical, emotional and spiritual needs, while making each remaining moment as meaningful as possible. While Medicare mandates the minimum services that hospice patients must receive, at Kansas Hospice Care, we are committed to exceeding industry standards because we recognize that each patient’s life experiences and spiritual beliefs have created a unique individual who deserves the finest care and emotional support, while honoring and respecting their needs and wishes. Every team member and volunteer is encouraged to go beyond what is required and help all patients and their families enjoy the highest possible quality of life in the precious time they have together. We provide compassionate care and expert pain management to people nearing the end of their lives, as well as supporting their families and friends. Our approach is holistic, with a team of professionals serving patient’s medical, emotional and spiritual needs. We accept Medicare payments at the same rate as non-profit hospices do and we lower Medicare’s expenses by caring for patients in their home.

Fact: Your primary physician works alongside the hospice team, so you continue care with the doctor you trust. Plus, a hospice physician is available to support your care every step of the way.

We have a patient moving and needs to rehome her cat, Mittens. She is a 10 year old spayed cat without claws. She is possibly behind on her shots by 1 year. She is shy/friendly but her comfort around other pets is unknown. No medical or behaviorial needs. We need to identify a new home by Fridat, October 24th. 💀 Myth buster of the week! Some think hospice care costs a fortune—but here’s the truth:

Myth: Hospice care is expensive.

Fact: Hospice care is 100% covered by Medicare, Medicaid, and most private insurance. Financial support may also be available for those with limited resources.

Quality end-of-life care should be accessible for all. Myth busted!

Myth: Hospice is only for people with cancer.
Fact: Less than half of hospice admissions are for cancer, and cancer accounts for under 25% of U.S. deaths. Hospice also supports people with Alzheimer’s, ALS, heart disease, lung disease, kidney disease, stroke, AIDS, and more.

We Remember. We Honor. We Never Forget.
Today, on September 11, we pause to honor the lives lost, the heroes who responded with courage, and the families who continue to carry their loved ones in their hearts.
As a hospice organization, we are reminded daily of the importance of compassion, connection, and cherishing every moment with the people we love. On this day of remembrance, we stand in unity, gratitude, and reflection.
