Meet Myre, our Marketing & Social Media Coordinator and Recruiter here at Collective Medical Research!

If you’ve ever seen one of our posts or reels — or reached out about a trial — chances are, that was Myre! She joined the CMR team almost two years ago, bringing her background in graphic design and marketing to help share our mission of advancing mental health care through research.

A graduate of the University of Wyoming with a B.A. in Graphic Design, Myre previously worked at a marketing agency before combining her creativity with her passion for helping others get the care they need.

Outside of work, Myre enjoys spending time with her husband, exploring new coffee shops, going to the gym, and being active in her local church. She’s also an avid outdoor enthusiast who loves hiking and time in nature.

We’re so grateful for Myre’s creativity, compassion, and dedication to helping our community stay informed, connected, and inspired 💙

As the days get shorter and darker, many people notice a shift in mood or motivation — and that’s not uncommon.

December is Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) Awareness Month, a time to recognize how the changing seasons can affect mental health.

SAD impacts millions of people each year, often showing up as changes in energy, sleep, or outlook during the fall and winter months.

Here are a few signs to look for in yourself or others:
☁️ Persistent sadness or feeling “down” most of the day
💤 Oversleeping or difficulty waking up
🍔 Changes in appetite or weight
🏀 Loss of interest in activities once enjoyed
🥱 Trouble concentrating or feeling easily fatigued

If this sounds familiar, remember — you’re not alone, and there’s help available.

Talk with a healthcare provider, reach out to a friend, or check in on someone who might be struggling.

Sometimes a simple text can make a big difference 💬

Let’s look out for each other this season 💙

This Small Business Saturday, we want to take a moment to say thank you — to our volunteers, partners, and community members who make our work possible 💙

While the clinical trials we conduct are part of a larger effort to advance healthcare, we’re still a small, local business — rooted right here in the Kansas City area.

Every person who participates, shares our studies, or spreads awareness helps us take another step toward better treatments and brighter futures for those facing mental health challenges.

Your support means more than you know — together, we’re helping create real change for our community and beyond 🌍

While Thanksgiving is often a time of gratitude and togetherness, it’s okay if this year feels a little different.

Whether you’re missing a loved one, going through a difficult season, or simply not feeling “thankful,” remember this: you’re not alone — and it’s okay to honor where you are right now.

Here are a few small ways to care for yourself today:
☕ Enjoy a warm cup of coffee or tea and take a few slow, mindful sips.
📖 Wrap up in a cozy blanket with a good book or your favorite movie.
📝 Try journaling a few things you’re grateful for — even small moments count.
🎶 Listen to music that lifts your mood or brings a sense of calm.

And remember — it’s always okay to reach out to a friend or loved one, even with a simple text to let them know you could use some support.

These small acts of self-care can gently shift your mood and remind you that brighter days are ahead 💙

Wishing you warmth, comfort, and peace — today and every day.

For many, the holidays are a time of gratitude and connection — but for others, they can bring feelings of grief, stress, or loneliness 💙

Whether you’re coping with the loss of a loved one, navigating complicated family relationships, or unable to be with those you care about, remember this: it’s okay if this season feels heavy.

Here are a few ways to protect your mental health this holiday season:
💭 Acknowledge your feelings: It’s normal to feel sadness, anger, or nostalgia — allow yourself to experience them without judgment.
🕯️ Honor loved ones: Create a small tradition in memory of someone you miss — light a candle, share a story, or cook their favorite dish.
✋ Set boundaries: It’s okay to say “no” to stressful situations or step away when you need space.
📓 Focus on what brings peace: Whether it’s a walk outside, journaling, or a quiet moment of reflection — give yourself permission to rest and recharge.
🤝 Reach out for support: You don’t have to face difficult emotions alone. Talking with a friend, support group, or therapist can make a big difference.

However you spend the holidays, know that your worth isn’t defined by traditions or expectations. Be gentle with yourself — healing and gratitude can coexist 💚

If constant worry or tension has become your “normal,” you’re not alone — but that doesn’t mean you have to keep living that way 💙

An estimated 6.8 million adults in the U.S. live with Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD), yet less than half receive treatment.

Anxiety can affect sleep, focus, relationships, and overall quality of life — but help and hope are possible.

Collective Medical Research is currently enrolling adults in the Kansas City area for a clinical research study evaluating an investigational medication for GAD.

💊 About the study:

Outpatient visits only (no overnight stays)

Compensation available for qualified participants

Double-blind design, with a 2 in 3 chance of receiving active medication

Study-related care and evaluations at no cost

If you’re tired of anxiety holding you back, this may be your chance to take the next step toward relief — while helping advance future treatment options for others, too.

Kindness doesn’t have to be grand to make a difference.

Even the smallest gesture can brighten someone’s day and boost mental well-being for both the giver and the receiver.

Research shows that acts of kindness release serotonin and dopamine, the brain’s “feel-good” chemicals, helping reduce stress, increase happiness, and strengthen connection with others.

Here are a few simple, free ways to spread kindness today (and every day):
💚 Share a genuine compliment
🚪 Hold the door for someone
😊 Offer a smile or kind word
🛒 Let someone go ahead of you in line
💬 Send a quick text to check in on a friend

You never know what someone else may be going through — a small act of kindness might mean more than you realize 💙

Let’s make today a reminder that compassion, empathy, and kindness are powerful tools for better mental health — for others and for yourself.

Today, we honor the courage, sacrifice, and dedication of our nation’s veterans — the men and women who have served to protect our freedom. Your strength and service inspire us all 💙

While the battles may end overseas, for many veterans, another fight continues at home. Conditions like PTSD, anxiety, and depression can affect mental and emotional well-being long after service — but it’s important to remember you don’t have to face them alone.

If you find yourself struggling, please don’t accept it as something you just have to “deal with.” Support, healing, and recovery are possible — and reaching out for help is a sign of strength, not weakness.

This Veterans Day, let’s honor our heroes not only with gratitude, but with compassion and action. It’s our turn, as a community and a country, to stand by you. 🇺🇸

💬 Reach out to a friend, loved one, or mental health resource if you need support. You are never alone.

It’s a question many people don’t think to ask — but one that matters most!

Clinical trials follow strict safety protocols, and participant well-being is always the top priority.

Every study is backed by several layers of oversight to help protect you, including:
🔹 Principal and Sub-Investigators — licensed clinicians who monitor your health, progress, and safety throughout the study.
🔹 Clinical Research Coordinators and Monitors — ensure each visit follows the approved protocol and that all data is accurate, complete, and safely reported.
🔹 Institutional Review Boards (IRBs) — independent committees that review every study before it begins to ensure it meets ethical and safety standards.
🔹 Study Sponsors and the FDA — who regularly review safety data, audit procedures, and confirm that every site follows federal regulations.

Together, these safeguards ensure that your safety, rights, and well-being remain the top priority — every step of the way.

Clinical research isn’t just about advancing medicine — it’s about doing it responsibly, with you, not at your expense.

If you’ve been feeling “off” lately — tense, tired, or overwhelmed — your body might be signaling that stress is taking a toll.

Common signs of stress can include:
💤 Trouble sleeping or constant fatigue
💭 Racing thoughts or difficulty concentrating
😬 Increased irritability or anxiety
🍴 Changes in appetite
⚡ Headaches, muscle tension, or stomach discomfort

Healthy ways to manage stress:
🚶‍♂️ Move your body — even short walks or stretching can help release tension.
🧘 Practice mindfulness or deep breathing to calm your nervous system.
💬 Talk it out — connecting with a friend, therapist, or support group can make a big difference.
❌ Set boundaries — it’s okay to say no and protect your peace.
😴 Prioritize rest — quality sleep helps regulate mood and stress hormones.

Remember, stress is a natural part of life — but you don’t have to face it alone. Taking small, consistent steps to care for your mental health can help you feel more balanced and at peace 💙
