Mark Anthony Brewing Inc. needed a facility built for speed, scale, and long-term performance to meet rapidly growing demand for its beverage portfolio.

Clayco, LJC and Concrete Strategies LLC., as an integrated design-build team, delivered a 1.2 million-square-foot brewery in Columbia, South Carolina. It’s now the largest and most technologically advanced brewery in the U.S. in nearly three decades, capable of producing 80 million cases of hand-crafted spirits and luxury wines annually.

In the face of complex process and automation demands, the team completed construction, and the client was able to deliver their first saleable product in just 346 days, a remarkable pace for a project of this complexity.

As new energy and AI infrastructure models take shape, proven delivery experience is a critical differentiator.

As part of a consortium led by Deep Atomic, Clayco is advising on multiple U.S. Department of Energy submissions for next-generation, nuclear-powered AI data center and energy infrastructure campuses. These submissions include a proposed facility at Idaho National Laboratory, one of several large, competitive DOE RFPs, which could represent a first-of-its-kind deployment if approved.

Clayco’s role centers on early planning, constructability, and ex*****on strategy, drawing on its extensive experience delivering large-scale, mission-critical data center projects nationwide.

“Successful DOE submissions require more than innovative energy concepts—they require confidence that projects can be delivered safely, efficiently, and at scale,” said Bob Clark, Executive Chairman and Founder of Clayco.

A diverse workforce is essential to the long-term health of the construction industry.

In a newly published article, Senior Vice President Sandra Marks shares a candid perspective on the industry’s workforce gap and the role inclusion, mentorship, and early exposure play in solving it. Drawing on decades of experience in workforce and business development, she outlines why investing in people at every stage strengthens construction for the long term.

This is what the next generation of higher education looks like.

Steven S. Wymer Hall at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign was designed for a world where learning is hybrid by default. Physical and digital experiences are fully integrated, with flexible classrooms, immersive technology, and studio-grade environments that support collaboration, content creation, and global reach.

Designed by LMN Architects and Booth Hansen Architects, the nearly 100,000-square-foot facility advances net-zero ambitions through geothermal systems and sustainable design. This project marks Clayco’s eighth completed on the UIUC campus and the fifth delivered in joint venture with Turner Construction, representing a bold step forward in how academic spaces are conceived, built, and experienced.

Positive mental health practices are key to safety in the workplace.

That theme shaped a hands-on, collaborative workshop led by Dan Lester Sr., ECMCA at World of Concrete. In "Building Trust & Ensuring Safety: Mental Health in Construction Operationalizing Psychological Safety," participants explored practical ways to foster trust, encourage speaking up, and support one another in high-risk construction environments.

When people feel psychologically safe, jobsites are safer and teams are stronger.
