Positive mental health practices are key to safety in the workplace.

That theme shaped a hands-on, collaborative workshop led by Dan Lester Sr., ECMCA at World of Concrete. In "Building Trust & Ensuring Safety: Mental Health in Construction Operationalizing Psychological Safety," participants explored practical ways to foster trust, encourage speaking up, and support one another in high-risk construction environments.

When people feel psychologically safe, jobsites are safer and teams are stronger.

Winter hit our jobsites hard this week: snow, high winds, and subzero temperatures.

Our Clayco project teams planned ahead to keep people safe while work continued in challenging winter conditions by focusing on the following safety practices:

• Preventing slips by slowing down, shortening stride length, and staying aware of surfaces
• Maintaining clear walkways, proper traction, and using boot traction devices
• Preventing frostbite with winter-rated PPE and dry replacement gear
• Managing cold stress through proper layering, warm breaks, and hydration
• Allowing extra time for winter driving and keeping emergency kits in vehicles
• Establishing warm zones and addressing cold-weather risks in daily briefings

Safety doesn’t pause for winter. Our commitment to protecting our teams remains constant in every condition.

What does it look like when thousands of people build with purpose every day?

Across Clayco, our teams captured moments that reflect the energy, creativity, and collaboration behind our work, from early morning jobsites to design studios and everything in between.

These images come together in our annual publication, offering a look at a milestone year that included moving into our new St. Louis home and delivering projects across markets nationwide.

Step into “A Day in the Life” and experience Clayco through the moments that define how we turn vision into reality for our clients.

This week, members of our non-field teams stepped onto the jobsite at Albion West End, a 30-story residential tower rising in St. Louis’ Central West End, to experience Clayco’s work firsthand.

When complete, the project designed by LJC will deliver 305 luxury residences wrapped in a striking curved glass façade by Ventana, reflecting the impressive scale of what’s taking shape. What resonated most, however, was seeing the collaboration and problem-solving our field teams rely on every day, along with the dedication it takes to operate hundreds of feet above the ground.

Site visits like these help bridge the gap between office and field, giving teams a clearer understanding of the coordination, innovation, and commitment required to build complex projects safely and successfully.

Interested in high-impact work that helps shape city skylines and communities? We’re always looking for talented people who want to build something that matters.

"Our goal is to create a beloved community and this will require a qualitative change in our souls as well as a quantitative change in our lives.” - Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

That belief aligns with how we approach our work. Construction has the power to do more than shape skylines. When done with intention, it can strengthen neighborhoods, create opportunity, and support the people who call those communities home.

Going Beyond These Walls means recognizing the responsibility that comes with what we build. It means investing in inclusive growth, sustainability, and partnerships that deliver impact long after construction is complete.

On Martin Luther King Jr. Day, we reflect on the importance of building with purpose and contributing to the kind of progress Dr. King envisioned.
