GET'N FIT, LLC GET'N FIT is a fitness coaching and yoga studio. We offer semi-private personal coaching, group coaching, and vinyasa & restorative yoga.

GF is open by appointment and pre scheduled class time. GET’N FIT may not be like any other gym you’ve seen or experienced. That’s because we aren’t a gym at all. We are a fitness coaching and yoga studio where you will be part of our team, celebrated for your individuality and uniqueness. We believe in training for success, no matter what your goal and work to make sure that each member leaves feeling and moving better than they did when they walked in. Our lifestyle enhancement programs can help you improve your recreational and daily living activities, energizing your life. We are unique in that we have a dedicated Program Writing Department responsible for writing specific, individual programs for each member based on in-depth movement assessments and our comprehensive Strategy Session. Using functional methods to train the body so all muscle groups work together to develop spot on form and complete full body strength. Our workouts meet you where you are now so that you can get to where you want to be. We know that getting the body back to a place where it can train safely, often means working around chronic pain, or mobility issues. Our attentive knowledgeable staff, cutting edge training methods and a belief in training for success will help you through this process. With proper and consistent training anyone can feel better than they have ever felt in their lives. I decided to try yoga because I was having issues with hamstring tightness and cramping. I knew from my limited experience with the simple yoga taught to my PE students and athletes that yoga had positive benefits. Also, my wife Marcia was constantly sharing how much better yoga made her feel.

With age I've lost flexibility and experience various cramping episodes to multiple areas of my body, mostly during sleep hours. Since beginning yoga, Richelle has helped me focus attention to detail to improve my flexibility. I'm most concerned about losing flexibility in just about everything, but specifically my back, hamstrings, and core.

Both restorative and Move Better yoga sessions have provided relief while greatly improving flexibility and core strength. Being able to target different areas of my body that experience various levels of discomfort and pain on restorative days has been very satisfying. Move Better sessions have helped me concentrate on core strength and learn how our amazing bodies can heal or improve problems. Learning how to concentrate on breathing habits and techniques has also helped immensely. I leave every session feeling better than when I arrived.

One thing I love but didn't expect is learning how to "breathe"—it goes a long way to enhance results and progress! The variety of techniques goes way beyond inhale and exhale.

In general, I've felt better with less discomfort, allowing me to continue leading the active lifestyle I enjoy. Golf, general walking and extensive walking when traveling, being able to continue officiating football and basketball, pickleball, and snow skiing 3-4 times per season have all become easier and more comfortable.

As a retired PE teacher and sports coach, looking back, I
would have liked to incorporate more yoga principles for
PE and coaching athletes. The benefits would have made
a positive impact and better quality of life.

My goals for continuing yoga through my 70s and beyond
are to feel good while participating in the lifestyle
activities I enjoy for as long as possible. To other men my
age who might be hesitant I say give it a try and learn
how yoga can improve and prolong the quality of
movements, level of pain, and potentially lifespans."

To me yoga means physically feeling better, connecting and creating new friendships. I was initially inspired to try yoga out of concern about loss of physical balance. I researched briefly and thought yoga could help me restore my balance. What started as a concern about balance has evolved. I had surgery on both my feet and yoga has improved flexibility in my feet and ankles resulting in better balance and gait.

Before starting yoga I had muscle tension, and difficulty maintaining good posture. Core strength is so important and I was unaware of how very important it is. Each class I participate in results in helping me to maintain good posture, balance of muscle tension and relaxation and I have more energy. After yoga I feel like I have better core strength, flexibility, muscle tone and balance.
I like to garden and improved balance, core strength and flexibility have made gardening more enjoyable and safer. The most significant balance improvement is that I can walk up a couple of steps on a step stool and not feel like I am going to lose my balance. My capabilities have much improved.

Yoga has helped change my life because I have become aware of my breathing, have less pain in my shoulders, neck and low back and have had a decrease in discomfort associated with bunions on my feet and feel like my physical balance is better.

Yoga has helped me and I encourage others to try it.

At 78, I'm still competing in team roping. Age and physical ability are two different things controlled by your mental wellbeing. Attitude and physical fitness let me accomplish my goals.

Before GET'N FIT, my major limitation was shoulder pain that worried me about my ability to keep roping. Now my shoulders and back have become stronger and more flexible—especially knowing how to use back strength to aid flexibility to the shoulder when swinging a rope.

Having professional fitness coaching helps me use my body correctly in ways I may not have figured out on my own. It helps with strength, flexibility, balance, hand-eye coordination, and mentally believing I can do what I do. Riding and roping have become easier and more enjoyable because of my fitness routine.

That 7 AM appointment at GET'N FIT is how we start our day. It's positive reinforcement being on a schedule. Staying active at GET'N FIT is a great way to start the day. After workouts I always feel better than when I come in.

Besides strength training, yoga has helped with flexibility and breathing. To other men my age who are hesitant to start because they think they’re “too old”, that yoga isn't for them or that they're "too stiff" I say think young and give it a try, age is only a number. Yoga lubricates my body. It's not easy and sometimes hurts, but each time the poses become easier to accomplish.

At my age, being physically fit lets me ride, train, and
rope—which I enjoy. That's what "investing in your future self" means to me. I never gave age much thought. I try not to let
it be a stigma that controls my life.

Looking ahead to my 80s and beyond, my goals are to
keep doing what I enjoy doing, stay healthy, maintain
good physical condition, not look old because of posture,
think young mentally and be a positive influence for my
age. As they say, age is just a number."
