Most milestone conversations focus on timing - but one of the most important pieces often gets missed: the order matters too. 👶

Head control, rolling, sitting, crawling, standing, and walking are not just random steps. They help build the neurological foundation for coordination, posture, body awareness, sensory processing, focus, and regulation later on.

🎥 In this video, Dr. Drake walks through why skipped or out-of-order milestones can sometimes show up as challenges later in life - and why looking deeper at the nervous system matters.

That’s why pediatric chiropractic care can be such a powerful tool. We help calm and support the nervous system so kids can build a stronger foundation for movement, coordination, regulation, and resilience. If your child feels a little “stuck,” there may be more to the story - and more we can do to help. 💙

Most parents are told to watch for milestone delays based on age alone. But there’s another important piece that often gets missed: the order of milestones matters too.

Milestones are how a child’s brain and body build skills step by step. Rolling leads to crawling. Crawling helps develop coordination, strength, balance, and communication between both sides of the body. Those early patterns help lay the foundation for later skills like posture, focus, sensory processing, and learning.

So even if a child eventually walks, skipping key steps along the way can still be worth paying attention to.

That’s why it’s so important to look deeper than just whether your child “eventually got there.” In our latest blog, we break down why milestone sequence matters, what signs to watch for, and when it may be time to take a closer look. 📚 Check it out, link in our bio.

We loved getting to pass out Easter eggs to our kiddos this week! 🐣💛 It is such a joy getting to celebrate these little moments with the families we care for every day. Our tribe sure knows how to make the office extra fun this time of year! ✨

Early in care, we’re usually looking for regulation before the big milestones. 👀💙

That’s why we love tracking these 5 neurological soft signs of healing: sleep, digestion, posture/tone, sensory overwhelm, and transitions.

If you’re excited to start seeing changes in your child, DM “SOFT SIGNS” or call 918-272-0303 to get scheduled.

Before starting care, Hank’s parents shared that anxiety and separation struggles had become part of daily life.

He cried at drop-off, had a hard time with transitions, and often became so anxious in new or pressured situations that he would completely shut down. Even things he wanted to do, like basketball, felt overwhelming once it was time to participate. 💙

After just 12 visits, Hank was already showing some encouraging soft signs that his nervous system was beginning to shift. He was able to attend school without crying at drop-off, and there was less time spent begging mom not to leave.

Those early changes mattered, but they were just the beginning. ✨ As Hank has continued with care, his parents have seen even more progress, including easier transitions, less fighting and sadness, fewer outbursts, and a gentler overall presence. He is also experiencing quicker recovery when things do not go his way. Hank’s story is such a great example of how small early wins can build into deeper, lasting change over time. 🌱

The first wins are usually the quiet ones 👀💙

Sleep, digestion, smoother transitions, less sensory overwhelm… those are soft signs your child’s nervous system is regulating.

That’s why pediatric chiropractic care is such a powerful tool. We use INSiGHT Scans to see how well their nervous system is regulating and adapting. Then we gently adjust areas of tension and subluxation to help their brain and body communicate better - so the nervous system can shift from stress to strength.

Want help tracking your child’s progress? We’re here.

If you’re early in your care plan and thinking, “Okay… but how do I know this is working?” - start here. 👀💙

Most of the time, the first signs of progress aren’t the big milestones you’re hoping for. They’re the little wins that show your child’s nervous system is finally starting to settle, regulate, and recover.

Parents often tell us they notice:
✨ deeper, more restful sleep
✨ smoother digestion or a better appetite
✨ calmer mornings + easier bedtimes
✨ fewer meltdowns and quicker recoveries
✨ less sensory overwhelm (noise, touch, crowds, transitions)
✨ improved posture, tone, balance, and coordination

These are what we call neurological soft signs of healing - the “green flags” that the foundation is getting stronger.
And when the foundation gets stronger, bigger progress often becomes easier over time.

If you’re noticing any of these small wins, tell us at your next visit - we love tracking them with you. And if you’re not sure what to look for, message us and we’ll help you figure out what changes matter most for your child. 💙

These shifts usually mean the nervous system is adapting better—moving out of constant fight-or-flight and into rest, regulation, and growth. 💪

And when regulation improves, the “bigger stuff” often gets easier over time.
Foundation first 👉 then complexity.

So if you’re noticing small wins - please share them at your next visit. 💙 They’re the breadcrumbs that lead to breakthroughs.

When people expect healing to be a straight line, normal neurological shifts can feel confusing or discouraging.

The nervous system heals in phases as it releases stress, rebuilds regulation, and restores resilience.

At our office, we use INSiGHT Scans to track how the nervous system is adapting throughout each phase so care stays intentional and supportive.
Understanding the process changes everything.
