To the man who called me at 11:45 PM looking for a massage:

What in the world made you think it was appropriate to call a professional, a woman at nearly midnight for a massage? When I called out how completely out of line that was, you had the audacity to blame me for answering and then criticized my “attitude” as a bad way to get clients?

Let me make one thing PERFECTLY clear:
If your idea of a client-therapist relationship involves boundary pushing, late night phone calls, and entitled behavior you are NOT the kind of client I want.

I run a legitimate business. I’m a licensed massage therapist with nearly two decades of experience, and I expect to be treated with respect. I’m not here to coddle egos or entertain inappropriate nonsense from a man-child. Don’t call me in the middle of the night. Don’t blame me for your lack of boundaries. And don’t mistake professionalism for weakness. I will call this bs behavior out every single time and put you in your place.

Hello,

I hope you’re doing well! I wanted to share a personal update with you about my massage practice.

As many of you know, I’ve been a massage therapist for 19 years, and Ashiatsu barefoot massage has been a big part of that for the past 18 years. Unfortunately, I’ve been dealing with persistent foot pain and multiple diagnoses over the last five years, and it’s become clear that continuing barefoot massage just isn’t sustainable for me anymore. It’s a tough decision, and I’ll definitely miss it, but I know it’s the right one for my body.

That said, I’m not going anywhere! I’m still offering traditional massage, Bamboo massage, cupping, and other modalities, and I’m also excited to share that I’m currently in training for a new certification and service that will be available hopefully by April. While this transition wasn’t what I originally planned, it’s opening doors for me to grow and bring even more to my practice and I can’t wait to share it with you.

I truly appreciate all of you who have supported me over the years, and I’d love to see you on the table soon. If you have any questions or want to book a session, just reach out.

I have a ZERO tolerance policy for No Shows. This is a one and done for me. You’ll never be on my schedule again.

When someone doesn’t show up for their appointment it’s taking time away from another person that needs it.

It’s rude. I expect more out of a grown adult that has scheduled time with me.
I understand emergencies happen. In fact I had a client text me on her way to an emergency C-section letting me know she couldn’t make her appointment. She went above and beyond so yes it’s possible!

When I schedule a client I’m setting aside almost two hours. This allows time for me to make sure everything is perfect for YOU.

If you can’t make your appointment please let me know as soon as possible.
If you’re sick stay home. I’ll reschedule those that are respectful of not only my time but the time of my other clients.

I invest in a scheduling system that sends TWO REMINDERS.

It costs nothing to be kind.
