We have to accept our skin for where it’s at and approach our skincare with grace and intention. Simplifying is better than adding when your skin is upset.
A skincare ritual is the time of day we get to slow down and check in with ourselves. Don’t use it as a time to nitpick yourself in the mirror just to complain. BE INTENTIONAL. Notice where you may be holding tension and allow yourself to let go. Observe how your internal system may be communicating with you through your skin. Do you need to adjust your hydration? Eat more nutrient-rich foods? Don’t judge. Observe and honor your skin.

An easy day-to-day guide for skin health. The purpose of our MORNING routine is preparing our skin to face the elements of our day. Examples of morning ingredients: Vitamin C, hyaluronic acid, ceramides. A gentle, protective skincare routine is best.
Our NIGHT time routine focuses on deep cleansing and repair. Save your exfoliating products or active serums for the evening. Example of night time ingredients: Vitamin A, salicylic acid, peptides, Bakuchiol.

I’d have to pick never ending supply of hyaluronic acid 💧.
Breakouts come and go, but hyaluronic acid is forever 😅
Our bodies naturally produce hyaluronic acid, but production slows as we age creating visibly fine lines and volume. Having HA in your skincare cabinet is a must.
The new Eminence Strawberry Rhubarb Hyaluronic Hydrator is my new favorite and is going to be my spring and summer go to for hydration.

SKIN BARRIER TIP:
One of the simplest ways to keep your skin barrier healthy is to stop over-stripping it in the first place. Often times we use cleansers that are too stripping too often and then we have to over-compensate with our skincare. Switching to a cream-based cleanser if your skin is dry, dehydrated or sensitized it can make a big difference. For the oily/acne prone skin types, I love recommending a cream cleanser for a gentle morning cleanse, then you can use a gel or treatment cleanser at night.
These are my two favorite cream cleansers. For the most dry, sensitive, sunburned and irritated skin, the Coconut Milk Cleanser is a must have. It’s incredibly gently and soothing.
The Firm Skim Cleanser is still very gentle, but has juices from berries to give it a slight different (lighter) texture than the Coconut Cleanser.

I love hearing feedback about your experience in my treatment room. I pride myself in truly listening to your concerns and past experiences with your skin so I can personalize you treatment from start to finish. My goal is to provide a safe and relaxing environment so you can feel at ease and taken care of. I never want a client leaving a facial feeling like I traumatized their skin with too much exfoliation or intense extractions. I’m a gentle esthi who loves doing a lot a facial massage. 💞🤗.

The outermost layer of the skin: water proof , yet water-attracting. Our every-day protection against our environment. Our bodies can replenish this layer of the skin on its own, however, some habits and circumstances can lead to slower recovery and damage that throws off the skin’s ph, ultimately disrupting the skins barrier function.
The more in tact our barrier is, the better it can protect our new, healthy cells underneath. We often confuse having sensitive skin instead of just having a disrupted skin barrier-which can cause our skin to be more inflamed and sensitive (aka: sensitized).
Later this month we will talk about ways to protect our barrier function and my favorite product for barrier repair.
