Today was all about connection, joy, and celebrating together ❤️🎄
We had the best time at our staff Christmas party, and we loved being able to welcome our clients and our families to celebrate with us too. From lots of laughter and great company to a very special visit from Santa 🎅, it was a reminder of what makes our community so special.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the day so meaningful. Moments like these are what the season — and our work — are all about. ✨

Are you ready to lead, not just clock in?

We’re looking for a Day Training Lead who wants true ownership of a program and is passionate about creating meaningful, inclusive experiences for adults with disabilities.

🕒 Schedule:
• Monday–Thursday: 7:30 AM–4:30 PM
• Fridays: Meetings/trainings scheduled periodically

💲 Pay: $30/hour
📄 Position Type: 1099 Contractor (no benefits)

⭐ Preferred Qualifications:
• 2+ years DSP experience
• 2+ years working with individuals with disabilities
• Knowledge of person-centered practices
• Previous leadership or lead staff experience

🎄✨ THIS WEEK AT DAY TRAINING = ALL THE CHRISTMAS MAGIC! ✨🎄

We have an exciting, joy-filled week ahead and we can’t wait to celebrate the season together! Here’s what’s coming up:

🎨 Monday: Christmas crafting day! We’ll be making ornaments and large wall décor for the building — including a Santa and a GIANT Christmas tree!

🍽️ Tuesday: Cooking class with a twist… our clients will enjoy a surprise Christmas menu! A festive treat you won’t want to miss!

💃 Wednesday: One of our FAVORITE days of the year — our Annual Christmas Dance at the Opportunity Center! Music, dancing, and all the holiday vibes!

🏡 Thursday: We’ll be spreading Christmas joy at Twin Rivers Nursing Home, followed by a fun and friendly Gingerbread House Competition!

It’s going to be a week full of creativity, community, and Christmas cheer! ❤️

⛄ Reminder of our ❄️ WINTER WEATHER POLICY:

We will typically follow the DCPS schools for closure. However, there could be days that we feel it is safe enough to travel and we may choose to be open despite the school closure. We don’t have the luxury of “virtual DT” 😃

We will ONLY post updates to SLACK and FACEBOOK! We will not send out private communication regarding closures, so please check Slack and Facebook frequently when there is a chance of winter weather 🥶

🍁 Happy Thanksgiving 🍁

Today I’m especially reminded that gratitude isn’t just for the easy moments — it’s also for the challenges that shape us, strengthen us, and remind us of who we are. I am so proud of the way our team continues to show up with love, dedication, and integrity every single day.

I’m endlessly thankful for my family and my staff who constantly go above and beyond, and for our wonderful clients who trust us and allow us to be part of their lives. The work isn’t always simple, but it is always meaningful.

Here’s to choosing gratitude, leading with love, and recognizing the light always. 🧡
