Your feet literally carry you through every season! It's important that you're noticing how they feel throughout the season as well.

Make sure that you're keeping your feet warm, not damp. If you're wearing thicker socks, make sure that your shoes aren't fitting too snug. Tight shoes restrict blood flow, increasing the risk of cold-related problems.

If you're noticing more numbness and pain regardless, then it might NOT be the cold weather. Visit our website to schedule your appointment today at www.BlueGrassFootCenters.com!

Celebrities struggles can bring awareness about health issues. For example, world-famous country music star Alan Jackson revealed in 2021 that he had been diagnosed with Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease.

Charcot–Marie–Tooth disease is a genetic condition that affects the nerves in the arms and legs. It causes muscle weakness, numbness, and foot problems like high arches or difficulty lifting the foot while walking. The condition progresses slowly over time and is managed with braces, therapy, and supportive care rather than a cure. Early intervention can be key in managing pain and problems.

For Alan Jackson, the disease has progressively impacted his mobility, particularly in his legs, and contributed to his decision to step away from touring. In late 2025, Jackson reportedly underwent reconstructive surgery, and his long-term mobility remains uncertain.

If you're experiencing foot or ankle problems, give us a call today at (270) 684-5252 and we will get you in as soon as possible!

Want a simple way to prevent foot issues this winter?

Make sure your shoes are dry! In the winter, shoes can get and stay damp, which can lead to fungal infections of the skin and nails as well as blisters.

Two ways that you can get rid of that moisture easily:
1) Silica packets as pictured here placed inside of the shoe
2) Put dry rice in a stocking (pantyhose) and then place that inside of the shoe.

Doing these simple things can keep you feet healthy and happy this season! Already having problems with blisters or infections? Make an appointment with us today! Visit www.BluegrassFootCenter.com or call (270) 684-5252.
