Last week, our friends in AVP celebrated National Pajama Day and they fully embraced it!

From cozy pajamas to a relaxed, fun atmosphere, it was a great way to mix things up and enjoy a different kind of day together. Moments like this give our clients a chance to unwind, connect with friends, and enjoy a break from the usual routine.

Still smiling thinking about our Spring Break day at TRUNNELL'S FARM MARKET.

After sharing some of our favorite photos, we had to share the videos too — such a fun day of exploring, laughing, and just enjoying the moment together.

Special shoutout to Carson Lanham for capturing it all on video!

Our youngest friends had a great day out at TRUNNELL'S FARM MARKET over Spring Break — enjoying the sunshine, exploring, and just being kids.

These are the kind of days we love. Getting out into the community, trying new things, and making memories together.

Shoutout to our friend Carson Lanham for capturing so many great moments from the day!

A reminder that the Whitesville Lions Club Chili Supper & Pie Auction is happening this Friday, April 24, and the public is welcome!

Our clients have been hard at work creating sweet treats that will be up for auction, and we can’t wait for the community to see (and taste) what they’ve made.

Come out, enjoy a great evening, and support a meaningful cause that makes a difference in our community.

We’re continuing to share resources from the Autism Informed Employer video series through the Kentucky Employment First Council and ISAW.

This series is designed to help employers better understand how to create inclusive workplaces and support individuals on the autism spectrum in meaningful employment.

Small steps in understanding can lead to big opportunities for inclusion.

We love partnering with local businesses who not only bring creativity and quality to their work, but also have a heart for giving back — and Something Borrowed Owensboro is exactly that.

During our Galentine’s Bunco event, they debuted their LED marquee signage, adding a fun and memorable touch to the evening. Their attention to detail and willingness to support local nonprofits makes them an incredible partner in our community.

Based right here in Owensboro, Something Borrowed offers over 100 event rentals and services, helping bring events to life in a meaningful way.

We are grateful for businesses like this that use their platform to give back. If you’re planning an event, we highly recommend checking them out!

We’re excited to partner with local artist Will Evans to bring something special to life in our satellite building, home to our Autism and ABA programs that serve our youngest clients.

This isn’t just a project. It’s a community effort. We’re inviting local artists, including middle and high school students, to be part of creating murals that will make this space vibrant, welcoming, and fun for the children we serve.

Not an artist? You can still be part of it. There are plenty of ways to help, and we’d love for you to be involved as we prepare this space for a summer full of programming.

We’ll be hosting this on a Saturday in May. Stay tuned for details!
Interested in participating? Message us or Will Evans to get involved.

🎓 Inclusive Circles is Now Accepting Applications!

Puzzle Pieces is now accepting applications for the next academic year of Inclusive Circles, our college support program in partnership with Owensboro Community & Technical College.

Inclusive Circles is designed for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder who are enrolled at OCTC and looking for additional support to succeed both academically and socially. Through a combination of 1:1 coaching and group support, students build skills in organization, time management, self-advocacy, and social connection—all while navigating the college experience.

This program bridges the gap between high school and independence, helping students gain confidence, stay on track academically, and prepare for future employment.

📚 Interested students can email Program Coach Bobbi Bartlett to schedule an interest meeting and receive an application if the program is a good fit.

Earlier this month, our Red Group in AVP enjoyed a well-earned lunch trip to Mr. B’s — purchased using their Center Bucks.

Center Bucks are part of our program’s incentive-based system, where clients earn “bucks” by demonstrating positive behaviors, completing tasks, reaching goals, and actively participating throughout the day. These bucks can then be saved and used toward rewards and experiences, like community outings.

This system helps build responsibility, decision-making, and financial awareness, while also reinforcing the value of hard work and goal-setting. Choosing how to spend their Center Bucks gives clients a sense of ownership and pride in what they’ve earned.

Opportunities like this turn everyday lessons into real-life experiences — and make celebrating success even more meaningful.
