Whether you're gathered around a table, connecting through a screen, or spending the day in your own meaningful way, we hope it’s filled with joy, comfort, and moments that remind you of what truly matters.

The day before Thanksgiving is one of our favorite traditions at Puzzle Pieces 🧡

Our staff prepares a special Thanksgiving meal, and all of our friends — across both buildings and even those being served in their homes — come together on Zoom to celebrate friendship, community, and gratitude.

No matter where our friends are, we make sure everyone is connected. That’s what Puzzle Pieces is all about.

Happy Thanksgiving from our family to yours! 🦃✨

Nothing brings people together quite like a home-cooked Thanksgiving meal — and our Residential Services team made sure our clients felt just that: together.

Last night, our residential homes gathered for a special Thanksgiving dinner, complete with dishes lovingly prepared by our staff. Families were invited to join in, creating a meaningful time of connection, tradition, and celebration across all three of our homes.

Our Residential Services team goes above and beyond every day, but moments like this highlight just how deeply they care. They create more than safe and supportive homes — they create family, belonging, and memories our clients will carry with them for years to come.

The day before Thanksgiving is always special at Puzzle Pieces. Each year, we celebrate the power of friendship, community, and togetherness by sharing a Thanksgiving meal prepared by our staff — a tradition that brings all of our friends together before the holiday.

As Puzzle Pieces has grown, our campus is now full of so many incredible individuals that we can’t gather in just one room anymore. So we’ve created our own tradition: a campus-wide Zoom celebration that connects every classroom, every building, and even our friends receiving services in their homes.

It’s a moment where everyone can see one another, wave, laugh, and share gratitude — no matter where they are. A true reminder that connection doesn’t require being in the same room; it just requires being part of the same community.

From our Puzzle Pieces family to yours, we wish you a Thanksgiving filled with friendship, gratitude, and moments that matter most.

We are honored to be selected as a Glenmore Gives grant recipient, supporting the growing needs of our Autism Services and ABA programs.

This funding will allow us to purchase essential sensory, fine motor, and gross motor equipment for our second campus—home to our youngest clients. As our programs expand, so does the need for durable, developmentally appropriate tools like trampolines, trikes, and cause-and-effect toys that help children build motor skills, regulate sensory input, and reach individualized goals.

Thanks to Glenmore Gives, we can replace heavily used items and expand our equipment to better support each child’s therapeutic experience. This investment strengthens the quality of care we provide and ensures our clients have access to the resources they need to thrive.

Thank you, Glenmore, for believing in our mission.

At Puzzle Pieces, our Board of Directors plays a vital role in building the future of our organization. As a strategic, governance-focused board that meets bi-monthly, this team guides the vision, growth, and long-term sustainability of the services our families rely on. Their leadership ensures we remain responsive to community needs while planning boldly for the future.

We are currently seeking to expand our board with a new member who brings expertise in tax, financial, and/or nonprofit law — a CPA license is not required. This seat is critical as we continue strengthening our foundation and preparing for intentional growth.

To streamline the process and create a centralized place for future reference, we ask all interested individuals to apply or submit interest through Engage.

If you—or someone in your network—has the passion, expertise, and heart to serve families with disabilities, we’d love to connect.

👉 Apply today through Engage Owensboro and help shape what’s possible.

We are proud to recognize Quincy Harris, our Residential Services Director, for serving as a guest speaker at Build Her C.R.O.W.N., an empowering program created by Allyson Sanders for young women at Owensboro Middle School.

Build Her C.R.O.W.N. — which stands for Confident, Respectful, Original, Well-Rounded, and Neighborly — provides both monthly assemblies for all female students and weekly small-group sessions for 7th-grade girls. By embedding the program into the school day, every student has the opportunity to participate without barriers.

Quincy shared her story, her strength, and her passion for lifting others up. Programs like this matter — especially in middle school, when positive role models and open conversations can shape confidence, identity, and future dreams.

We’re grateful to Allyson Sanders for creating such meaningful opportunities for young women, and proud that Quincy could contribute her voice and experience to inspire the next generation.

We are incredibly grateful for the Southwire volunteers who spent the day helping us tackle a long list of projects across our campus. Their hard work made a noticeable impact, and our clients and staff are already feeling the difference.

In just one day, their team:

• Installed cabinets and assembled cubicles

• Deep cleaned our building and shampooed carpets

• Repaired our sinking swingset

• Organized our supply closet

• Hung TVs and built equipment for our vocational training rooms

• And even helped construct our new driving simulator

These improvements make our spaces safer, more functional, and more welcoming for the 450+ clients we serve each year.

Southwire’s commitment to giving back is truly inspiring, and we are so thankful for their partnership and generosity.

With Thanksgiving just one week away, we’re excited to share that our holiday support resources are back again this year for Puzzle Pieces families and the wider community.

Our Thanksgiving Activity Schedule and Food Choices Board are designed for those with verbal communication differences. These tools serve an important purpose:

• Visual schedules outline the flow of the day to reduce anxiety, support predictability, and help individuals understand what’s happening next.

• Choice boards provide a visual menu of options, making it easier to communicate preferences, reduce frustration, and promote independence.

Even for strong communicators, visual processing is often easier than auditory information. Using these supports can lower stress, prevent sensory overload, and help families enjoy the day together.

We know Thanksgiving can be overwhelming and unpredictable. Our hope is that these visual resources help make your holiday smoother, calmer, and more enjoyable by providing structure and choice in a way that feels comfortable and empowering.

We’re proud to offer resources that make holidays more accessible and inclusive for ALL.
