After continued monitoring of the weather this morning as well as checking current road conditions, Owen County Schools will be closed today, Monday, March 2nd for the safety of our students and staff. This is a traditional snow day!

OC Families,

For the safety of our students and staff, Owen County Schools will be closed on Friday, February 6th. This is a traditional snow day!

Our road conditions across the county have definitely continued to improve but several areas remain unsafe for bus travel. Even our alternate bus route plans cannot be achieved at this time. However, our road crews have done an amazing job getting our roads as clean as possible during this horrible winter season!

Current conditions, and the impending weather that is due to arrive in the morning, and into the afternoon, has the potential to cause travel concerns getting our students home safely tomorrow. So, we are making this decision with safety at the forefront.

Thank you for your continued partnership, grace, understanding, and flexibility as we prioritize the safety of our students and staff. We always strive to make student and staff safety a priority when making decisions, and this weather has definitely been a disruption to everyone. We want to see our students back in school and all activities return to normal as long as it can be achieved safely. We look forward to returning soon!

Congratulations to our Lady Rebels on today's big win at the All "A" Classic State Tournament against Morgan County! Since they won and will advance in the tournament, Owen County Schools will not be in session on Thursday, January 22nd, and Friday, January 23rd. These days will be made up at the end of the school year.

Thank you for the incredible support shown by our families and community for our Lady Rebels, Rebel Cheerleaders, and Rebel Band. We are proud to see Owen County come together to cheer on our students and showcase our Rebel Pride! Go Rebels!
