Women deserve safe spaces where they feel truly heard, wholeheartedly supported, and fully empowered. Places free of judgment and full of hope.

To the women in our community:

Black history isn't limited to just one page or a single month on the calendar.

It lives in stories we share, in communities that lift each other up, and in voices that keep leading, healing, and inspiring us all.

Black history is reflected in resilience, in care that’s rooted in connection, and in the strength that comes from collective support.

As this month comes to an end, the impact of history, culture, and community still remains with us.

Honoring Black history isn't just about remembering.
It's about continuing.
It's about supporting each other's well-being and creating spaces where everyone feels seen, valued, and supported.

The legacy continues.
The care continues.
The commitment continues.

Throughout history, Black communities have cultivated systems of care rooted in connection, mentorship, and shared responsibility.

In the face of systemic barriers, support was frequently sourced from churches, families, neighborhoods, and cultural spaces that emphasized collective well-being.

These community-focused approaches continue to shape contemporary understandings of resilience, emotional support, and holistic mental health.

This Black History Month, we acknowledge the enduring legacy of community care and its ongoing influence on healing, strength, and well-being.

Audre Lorde’s words serve as a reminder that self-care is far more than a mere luxury; it is an essential act of preservation.

Prioritizing rest, boundaries, and emotional well-being is crucial, particularly within communities that have historically depended on resilience and collective strength.

This Black History Month, we commemorate the significance of self-preservation, reflection, and intentional care as integral components of holistic well-being.

“He who is not courageous enough to take risks will accomplish nothing in life.”

Today, we acknowledge the enduring legacy of Rev. Jesse Jackson.
A civil rights leader who reminded us that justice, dignity, and mental well-being are inherently interconnected.

Through his leadership, Rev. Jesse Jackson championed equity in education, economic opportunity, and access to resources for marginalized communities.

His work highlighted that genuine progress involves not only policy change but also a focus on people, their voices, struggles, and resilience.

His legacy inspires us to continue fostering communities built on advocacy, support, and collective care.

Because community care has always been a form of resistance.

About iHEAL

Philosophy: At iHEAL, we believe that all health is vital to human success and that wellness comes in many forms. We further believe that wellness at the individual and community levels is necessary for a healthier society. Every human being should be supported in their pursuit of health and no cultural identity factor precludes one from receiving that support. We understand that those who have social privilege have the duty and expectation to advocate for those who are under-privileged. We believe that anyone can make a positive difference in their communities at any time.

Mission: Providing culturally-sensitive and comprehensive wellness services for individuals and communities.

Vision: To foster a healthier, more culturally-affirming society by:

  • Providing comprehensive mental health treatment for individuals and families (Health Division)
