This Valentine’s Day, practice a little self-love — starting with your thoughts. 💛
Our brains naturally hold onto negative experiences more strongly than positive ones. This “negativity bias” developed to help humans survive by staying alert to danger, but in everyday life it can show up as self-criticism, overthinking mistakes, or feeling like we’re not doing enough.
The good news is that our brains can change. Through repetition and intention, affirmations help create new mental pathways that support self-compassion, resilience, and confidence. Even small moments of positive self-talk can help rebalance how we see ourselves.
