Took a really great hip class with a board certified massage therapy instructor Chris. I have learned new muscle energy techniques and frequency entrainment using a rhythm based on a metronome! Interesting. Usually CE's make me feel like im an idiot who gained clients out of dumb luck and mercy. Today i felt empowered that I actually know what i'm doing! If you need or want to try extensive hip work (including the FRONT of your hips) let me know! Some know that I routinely work on hips and maybe some of you had no idea.
Got my photo with Cindy Dort out of Ga***rd who will be 81 and still practicing!!!! And Dolly Wallace who comes from Cali to represent the American Massage Therapy Association. She is responsible for Michigan becoming a licensed state. I am very proud to be a Licensed Massage Therapist and take my profession very seriously!

Im always the same mindful massage therapist no matter the day. Im not burning out: im blessed and HIGHLY FAVORED. Thai Massage training! Well, I learned i need to sign up for Pilates so immediately requested to Join ReForm in Laingsburg.
I was extremely sick to begin (turns out I had very low potassium too wtf i drink electrolytes!) probably shouldve cancelled the weekend but the stubborn Ta**us in me thought I could handle it. Austeen is a Powerful Goddess and a highly skilled Bodyworker. I could really only ever aspire to be as great but I will work on it.

Summary: too weak and flabby to be a Thai practioner at this juncture. Plan of action and attempt again later.

P.s. Austeen Heeney with Free To Be Yoga & Massage who won the 2025 Massage Championship and lives in Adrian is actually from Owosso and went to Ovid/Elsie! The synchronicities that keep coming through are staggering. It was a great class and i gave it my best shot. It is something I would like to learn and be able to offer for sure.

Why massage?

I have suffered from what I now know to be piriformis syndrome for years and years. I used to be in such pain I would beg my doctors for an injection of some kind in my hip (which i never got.) It was to the point where I believed I had bone cancer I was in so much pain.

Since I am heavily tattooed, have gauged ears (since I was 15) and often times have multicolored hair; it was assumed that I was seeking drugs, or attention!

I got no help. I couldn’t even get sent to physical therapy for it. I was desperate for relief and furious with Western Medicine.

My sister Amanda introduced me to trigger point therapy as she had discovered them on her own to treat her tension headaches. A short time later I was introduced to the knowledge of fascia and pain. I started working on my own fascia and stretching. I suffered for decades with an easily treatable soft tissue condition that pinched off my sciatic nerve and wreaked havoc on my life.
