Spectrum Medical Solutions, a diverse medical group known for providing audiological, home care, and billing services across the country, has an opening for a Home Care Aide/CNA in Granville & Vance Counties (NC). The Home Care Aide/CNA will have the autonomy to work with patients in the field while having the support of a dedicated and experienced nursing and operations team. Home Care Aide/Certified Nursing Assistant’s Job Responsibilities: (if within your scope of practice)
- Enables patients to stay in their homes by monitoring and recording patient condition, providing support and personal services, and teaching families.
- Monitors patient condition by observing physical and mental condition, intake and output, and exercise.
- Supports patients by providing housekeeping and laundry services, shopping for food and other household requirements, preparing and serving meals and snacks, and running errands.
- Assists patients by providing personal services, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Helps patients care for themselves by teaching the use of a cane or walker, special utensils to eat, and special techniques and equipment for personal hygiene.
- Helps family members care for the patient by teaching appropriate ways to lift, turn, and re-position the patient.
- Advises on nutrition, cleanliness, and housekeeping.
- Records patient information by making entries in the patient journal and notifying the nursing supervisor of changing or unusual conditions.
- Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy patient environment by following asepsis standards and procedures, maintaining security precautions, and following prescribed dietary requirements and nutrition standards.
- Protects the home care agency by adhering to professional standards, home care policies and procedures, and federal, state, and local requirements.
- Enhances service reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Additional Requirements:
- Must have a valid NC Driver's license with no major traffic violations or points
- Must have valid vehicle insurance with a company licensed in NC
- Willing to undergo a fingerprint-based NC SBI (or FBI) criminal background check
- Willing to undergo background screening to verify education, employment, and references
- Willing to undergo a pre-employment drug screening
- Cannot be listed in US DHHS OIG Exclusions Database
- Hepatitis B vaccination required (waiver is allowed)
- COVID-19 vaccination required (medical or religious accommodations are allowed- must complete the appropriate paperwork and a determination will be made by the Human Resources department following EEOC guidelines)
- Recent TB test (or willing to undergo a TB test)
