Summit Physical Therapy, PLLC: Personalized Care for Every Stage of Recovery

When it comes to physical therapy in Oxford, Summit Physical Therapy is committed to helping patients heal and regain their strength with a personalized approach. Sarah Giroux, a dedicated physical therapist at Summit, shared, “We treat everything from pre and post-op treatment to sports injuries. We have a lot of pelvic floor patients. We do pediatrics, TMJ, vestibular issues, concussion recovery, balance training, and more.”

Summit also specializes in dry needling and offers occupational therapy. Excitingly, starting next week, Summit will begin providing lymphedema treatment, as they have a certified specialist joining the team.

Sarah emphasized the clinic’s personal touch. “We’re a small business, not a big chain. We’re here to get you better, not just get everyone in and out as quickly as possible. We like to be one-on-one with our patients, doing manual therapy and guiding them through the stages they need to recover.” Summit also provides home exercises, which are updated as needed and sent home with patients to maintain progress.

In addition to patient care, Summit Physical Therapy actively participates in community events. Sarah shared, “We do the Oxford Christmas Parade every year and participate in other downtown events. We focus on supporting the community in meaningful ways whenever we can.”

First up: DRY NEEDLING

🩹✨ Curious About Dry Needling?
Let’s break it down 👇

Dry needling is a skilled therapy technique performed by our licensed physical therapists to target muscle tightness, trigger points, and pain — using a thin, sterile needle (with no medication injected, hence “dry”).

🎯 What It Can Help With:
✅ Muscle knots & tension
✅ Chronic pain
✅ Sports injuries
✅ Headaches & migraines
✅ Sciatica, low back pain, and more

💡 How It Works:
The needle is gently inserted into a tight or painful muscle, triggering a twitch response that helps the muscle relax and reset. It’s like hitting the “refresh” button on your muscles! 🌀

🙋 Is it the same as acupuncture?
