Our Stuff an Ambulance event was a huge success, thanks to the incredible community turnout and the support of Quarry Walk and Market 32!

You helped us fill the ambulance with food donations that are already on their way to families in our community. We’re grateful for everyone who donated, supported, and showed up - we look forward to doing it again!

Today, we honor and thank all veterans for their service and sacrifice. Your dedication has paved the way for the our freedom, and we are deeply grateful to all who have served and continue to serve. A special thank you to the veterans who, now as members of Oxford EMS, continue their lives of service by protecting and serving the town of Oxford! 🇺🇸

As always, our crews have remained busy over the past few days responding to numerous calls for service. 2 notable incidents include a small plane crash and a structure/brush fire. The pilot involved in the crash was evaluated for minor injuries.

During the fire response, Oxford EMS provided rehab support for firefighters to helped ensure they stayed safe and healthy while fighting the fire.

Oxford EMS worked closely with Oxford Fire, Oxford Police, Oxford Airport Operations/ARFF, and mutual aid partners from surrounding towns to ensure these incidents were handled safely and effectively.

These past few days are a great reminder that there’s no challenge too unique for this community to take on together!

In Oxford, not every request for help comes from the ground. At our town airport, Oxford EMS faces unique challenges that require quick coordination and teamwork. When a medical emergency was reported on an inbound aircraft, our EMTs worked closely with fellow emergency service agencies and Air Traffic Control to ensure care was ready when the aircraft arrived.
We stand ready to meet the unique challenges that come with providing emergency medical care anywhere, anytime help is needed.

Following reports of a gas leak at Shady Knoll Health Center in Seymour, Oxford EMS joined a large multi-agency response to protect more than 100 residents.

Responding agencies included Seymour EMS, Seymour Fire Department, Naugatuck EMS, Bethany EMS, Storm Ambulance Corps. (Derby), Ansonia Rescue Medical Services, Beacon Hose Co. No. 1 (Beacon Falls), Echo Hose Ambulance (Shelton), Oxford Fire Department, and multiple units from Oxford EMS.

Thankfully, no injuries occurred and no mass evacuation was needed. Moments like these highlight the strength of our regional mutual aid system and the dedication of local first responders working together to ensure our communities are kept safe.
