Happy birthday to our incredible instructor Kim! She is creative in her lessons, so knowledgable about riding, and one of the kindest people we’ve ever known. We are so grateful to have her on our team 🩵
The center provides the opportunity for every rider to develop their horseback riding potential and to increase awareness for those with disabilities.

Banbury Cross Therapeutic Equestrian Center is a premier riding academy for children and adults with special needs. This includes any diagnosed physical, mental, emotional, or even learning disabilities! Started in 1991, in the heart of Metamora hunt country, this program has grown into a full accredited PATH International Center. While individual riders seek out riding each week, we are also partnered with Lapeer and Oxford Community Schools to offer programs to their special needs students as well as Wounded Warrior Project that allows us to offer riding and horsemanship classes at no cost to veterans. Our program is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit and relies on the support of our community for not only funding and donations, but also time commitments as it takes approximately 80 volunteers each week to keep our program running! If you are interested in becoming a rider, volunteer, donor, board member, or even on our staff, you know you’ll find happiness on horseback at Banbury Cross!
