As many of our volunteers, friends & riders spend time in more barns than just ours, we wanted you to be aware that we are following the EHV outbreak in the horse community carefully. While our herd is fairly closed, we do have visitors who frequent other barns as well.

Out of an abundance of caution, we are following basic biosecurity protocols to keep our program horses and boarder horses safe & healthy. If you are someone who visits both our barn & others, we respectfully ask that you change clothing before coming to our facility. If you must wear the same footwear, please be sure to use a medical grade disinfectant on them before stepping foot on our property.

Where There Are No Disabilities... Only Abilities!

Banbury Cross Therapeutic Equestrian Center is a premier riding academy for children and adults with special needs. This includes any diagnosed physical, mental, emotional, or even learning disabilities! Started in 1991, in the heart of Metamora hunt country, this program has grown into a full accredited PATH International Center. While individual riders seek out riding each week, we are also partnered with Lapeer and Oxford Community Schools to offer programs to their special needs students as well as Wounded Warrior Project that allows us to offer riding and horsemanship classes at no cost to veterans. Our program is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit and relies on the support of our community for not only funding and donations, but also time commitments as it takes approximately 80 volunteers each week to keep our program running! If you are interested in becoming a rider, volunteer, donor, board member, or even on our staff, you know you’ll find happiness on horseback at Banbury Cross!
