Can’t we just all be weird together? 🤓

04/02/2026

You might be thinking “okay do I dress up? Is this casual? Should I have my whole life story ready or do we ease into it? What if I cry? What if I DON’T cry? Should I bring notes??”

Meanwhile I’m pulling up in the same shoes I wear every single day, no clue what I’m having for lunch, and hoping I don’t weird YOU out lol.

I genuinely do not care if you show up in a ball gown or your college hoodie with a coffee stain on it. I am not grading you. There is no impression to make. You could come in having just rolled out of bed, remember three things you wanted to say, forget all of them, and talk about your dog for 45 minutes and I promise we will still make it work.

First sessions can be awkward. That’s just true. But awkward doesn’t mean bad. It’s just new.

You don’t have to have it together to walk in. That’s kind of the whole point.

Come as you are. Seriously. 🙂

It’s official. ✨ We're in our new home and we're pretty proud of it. It’s not completely done yet but it’s ours. A space that feels like what therapy should feel like. Calm and comfortable.

Come see us!

When a client comes in and has completely restructured their entire life since last Tuesday.

They’ve set boundaries. Had hard conversations. Fixed their sleep schedule. And even took a hard left out of a toxic situationship.

Like… sir, ma’am. It has been seven days.

It’s really one of the best parts of this job though. People think change takes forever and sometimes it does. But sometimes you just needed someone to finally say the thing out loud, and suddenly everything gets to moving.

Don’t sleep on what’s possible when you actually start doing the work. 🙂

Anxiety isn’t always panic attacks. Sometimes it looks like being the most "responsible" person in the room and being absolutely exhausted because of it.

If any of these situations felt a little too familiar, come talk to us.

Cool news! The Anchor Point will be at new location starting March 30th!

We know finding a new place can be a little stressful… ironic, we know. 😄

Here's how to find us:
Coming from Highway 278: Head south on highway 7. We’re about a mile south of NMRC. Turn left just past Bynum Road (412). If you see Walker Electric across the highway, you've found the right spot.

Still not sure? Just plug the address into Google Maps and it should bring you right to us. And if you drive past us the first time, don't worry, it happens. We don't judge. 😄

The hardest part isn't finding the office. It's deciding to come. And if you're reading this, you're already closer than you think.

Nobody:

Your brain at 1:47am: okay so here’s everything we need to worry about, a full review of that thing you said in 2019, a detailed plan for a scenario that will probably never happen, and also did you remember to lock the car?

The anxious brain doesn’t really do “off.” It does “quiet for a little while” and then absolutely does not do off. It waits until you’re horizontal, comfortable, and completely defenseless and then it’s like now. Let’s do this NOW.

And what’s wild is that your brain genuinely thinks it’s helping. All that late night planning and replaying and catastrophizing is your brain trying to keep you safe. It’s just really, really bad at knowing when to clock out.

If your brain hasn’t let you rest in a while, that’s not just “how you are.” That’s something worth talking about.

We work with anxious brains at TAP. Turns out they respond pretty well to the right kind of attention. 🙂

Stress isn't just being busy. It's your shoulders living up by your ears. It's snapping at someone you love and not totally knowing why. It's lying in bed exhausted but your brain has apparently scheduled a 10pm planning meeting.

Sound familiar?

Stress management therapy at TAP isn't about telling you to download a meditation app or take more bubble baths. It's actually figuring out what's driving the stress and building real tools that work for your real life.

Because Oxford is a great place to live, but it doesn't slow down just because you need it to. Between work, family, school, and just existing, it adds up.

If you've been running on fumes and calling it normal, let's talk.

If you grew up in the South, chances are you were taught to work. And not just work but push through.

There’s a lot of pride in that. Providing. Showing up. Doing what needs to be done even when you’re tired.

The problem is, nobody really taught us where the line is.

At some point, “strong work ethic” turns into running on fumes. You stop listening to your body. You feel guilty for slowing down. Rest starts to feel lazy instead of necessary.

Burnout doesn’t mean you’re weak. It usually means you’ve been strong for a long time without enough recovery. You can value hard work and still value your mental health. Those two things don’t cancel each other out.

Sometimes the most responsible thing you can do isn’t pushing harder but to learn when to pause.

Okay but genuinely why does that live in our heads rent free for the next four hours?

You said “you too,” the waiter was like okayyyyyy, smiled politely and moved on, and yet here you are at 11pm replaying it like there’s something to learn from it.

That’s overthinking. And if you laughed at this, there’s a good chance it’s not just the waiter situation. It’s the text you overanalyzed, the meeting you replayed, the conversation you’ve been pre-writing in your head that hasn’t even happened yet.

Overthinking usually isn’t about the thing you’re thinking about. It’s anxiety doing what anxiety does. It’s trying to keep you prepared for every possible outcome, all the time, forever, with no days off.

It’s exhausting. And it’s also really, really common.

If your brain hasn’t given you a break lately, that’s worth talking about.
