Volunteer immigration lawyers and community members answer questions about immigration and fill out USCIS paperwork for citizenship, DACA and green card renewals, as well as voter registration and Selective Service applications. Forms for fee waivers for those qualified will be filled out as well. We also provide study materials, listings of classes and other resources our applicants may need. FAQ

“0” – Zero. Immigration lawyers and community volunteers donate their time to help the immigrant community. No, an appointment is not necessary. We are here the last Sunday of every month and you can drop by to ask your questions. We can help you fill out your application to renew DACA, permanent residence or apply for citizenship today in this market.

Important news for March: 

VITA - The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program sponsored by the IRS through the United Way - IS BACK with their IRS-certified volunteers! They are ready to provide free tax prep, with electronic filing, to individuals who file simple returns, generally make $69,000 a year or less, are disabled, or who have limited English.

KIDSTREAM DONATES 50 KITS
KidSTREAM is a nonprofit dedicated to inspiring children and families through hands-on, play-based learning rooted in Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STREAM). Their STREAM Kit program extends this mission beyond the museum by partnering with community organizations like SMJ to distribute free, take-home kits to Ventura County families who may have limited access to educational resources. Each kit includes hands-on STREAM activities that encourage curiosity and creativity, as well as a book to promote family storytime.

This session will focus on best budgeting practices and accessible budgeting tools, with activities that allow participants to apply the lessons in real-time to their personal finances. Participants will walk away with tools and guidelines they can implement immediately. There will also be an opportunity for a live Q&A with presenters.
