Dr. VeyVoda pioneered the 3D imaging and digital sculpting protocol of facial prosthetics resulting in lifelike facial structures such as a nose, ear, and orbit with ocular, some adhesive retained and some retained with implants and magnets. This process allows for the capture of minute details of the skin surface and defect without tissue deformation. In the past, the use of impressioning materials such as silicones or irreversible hydrocolloids would slightly contourt or deform the delicate tissues surrounding the defect and used to retain the facial prosthesis. This new 3D imaging technique does not touch the tissues therefore capturing all detail in and around the tissues passively and at rest. The prosthesis is created using 3D imaging and spectromatch technology to record accurate tissue detail and color thereby allowing for a more realistic, lifelike prosthesis. The time from initial scan to receiving the final prosthetic is dramatically reduced. Patients are able to return to their pre surgical active lives with confidence and enjoyment. Dr. VeyVoda is also a master at intra oral cancer prosthesis. It is her goal to have every patient awaken in the recovery room with a smile and able to eat and swallow immediately.
