STUART ALLEN GILMORE - OBITUARY
STUART ALLEN GILMORE, 42, of Pacific, Missouri, passed away on October 23, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. Known affectionately as “Stu”, he will forever be remembered for his energy, generosity, and unwavering devotion to his family and friends. He was a devoted husband, loving father, brother, uncle, son-in-law, brother-in-law, and friend to many whose warmth and energy touched everyone he met.
Born on March 31, 1983, in Columbia, Missouri, Stu loved telling stories of his memories and things he learned growing up in life. Though his stories were known to stretch a bit long, they were always full of humor, lesson, and heart. His charisma, humility, and genuine compassion made him everyone’s friend. Stu was the person who was always the first to lend a helping hand.
He was preceded in death by both of his parents, Robert Gilmore and Patricia (née Hahn) Gilmore; his sister, Susan Gilmore; and father-in-law Greg Ray. He is survived by his wife, Jennifer (née Linhares) Gilmore; daughter, Mikayla Linhares; brother to Douglas Gilmore and his wife Kelley Gilmore; son-in-law to Tony (Cheri) Linhares and Diane Ray; brother-in-law to AJ (Lauren) Linhares, Chris (Tara) Ray, and Alex Linhares; uncle to Brendyn, Cameryn, Katelyn, Macklyn, and Madalyn Gilmore; Victoria Gilmore; Nora and Owen Linhares; Calvin, Thomas, and Caroline Ray; and Ellie Linhares; and other family members along with many friends who were considered family. Stu was proud of his faith and a member of St. Bridget of Kildare Catholic Church.
Stu found his life’s joy in hard work, laughter, and the simple pleasures of time spent with loved ones. He was a deeply talented craftsman who built not just projects but memories. Whether helping family, friends or working on his own home, Stu poured his heart into everything he did. He was truly a dedicated and hard-working man who approached every task with determination and pride.
He did take pride in his work, but even more pride in the people who filled his life. His greatest pride came from the life he built with his wife, Jennifer, and their daughter, Mikayla. Stu and Jennifer married in April 2025, celebrating a union that was the culmination of love, laughter, and steadfast partnership. To Jennifer, he was the best husband and protector she could have ever dreamed of; to Mikayla, he was the best father and greatest supporter.
Stu’s life was marked by a rare and beautiful simplicity. He lived fully, loved deeply, and helped freely, leaving a legacy of kindness and strength that will be felt for years to come. Those who had the privilege of knowing him will miss his long-winded stories, his ready smile, and the way he made every person feel important. He was full of life and energy, a simple man who found joy in the everyday moments that others might overlook.
Stu will be remembered not just for what he built with his hands, but for his spirit and the love and laughter he built into the lives of others. He will be remembered always as a simple and kind man with an extraordinary heart—everyone’s friend, the best husband, and the best father. Though his time here was far too short, the impact he made will endure in every person who had the privilege of knowing him.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 29, 2025, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bell Funeral Home in Pacific. A funeral mass will take place on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Bridget of Kildare Catholic Church in Pacific, with burial to follow at St. Bridget’s Cemetery.
