Have you ever returned to a place that used to hurt?

There’s a bench near my house I used to avoid.

It reminded me of everything I had lost—my old routine, certain people, my younger self.

But last week, I sat there.
Not to mourn the past… but to thank it.
Because without all those endings, I wouldn’t be who I am today.
A little quieter, a little softer… but much wiser.*
