TSH is not a thyroid test, and this misunderstanding keeps too many people stuck.
TSH only tells us what the brain is asking the thyroid to do. It does not tell us how much thyroid hormone is available to your tissues or how well your body is actually using it. This is why so many people are told their labs are “normal” while still feeling exhausted, cold, foggy, gaining weight, or losing hair.
A complete thyroid evaluation looks beyond TSH and includes Free T3, Free T4, Reverse T3, and thyroid antibodies. These markers help reveal issues like poor conversion, inflammation, chronic stress, or autoimmunity, the real drivers behind persistent symptoms.
