Share your story without speaking it aloud (we let the drums speak for us!)

We're starting something new at Lumera: "Drumming Up Healing: A Trauma Group".

This group integrates drum therapy and elements of EMDR to help participants:

-Experience safe connection and support within a trauma-informed environment
-Reconnect with emotions that may have previously felt difficult to access
-Strengthen emotional regulation skills
-Shift how they see and understand themselves
-Begin releasing the impact of past trauma

We're excited to partner with a local Health Rhythms Facilitator, Sharrie Thompson, RN, to bring this opportunity to more in our area.

Last Friday, we enjoyed a great luncheon with the United Energy Workers! Whole Person Care is something we believe in strongly and it was inspiring to see such a strong alignment with this healthcare company. The flashlights were a fun giveaway, but also helped us illuminate our belief that everyone can shine a little brighter with the right support (and collaborative care when needed). We had the pleasure of presenting to the group on how we support the community through therapy, psychiatry, and group programs. United Energy Workers Healthcare - Paducah

Lumera's Quinn Lambert, LPCC, Co-Clinical Director, has been named president of the West Kentucky Counseling Association (WKCA). At the spring conference in Dawson Springs, local counselors gathered to learn from each other and strengthen Kentucky's mental health community. The conference's primary focus was on self-care and trauma-informed care for both clients and students. Quinn also gave away Dr. Ron Kelley's book, "The ABCs of Healing Feelings", one of the most popular scavenger hunt prizes.

Feeling lucky and a little sweet!

We had so much fun celebrating St. Patrick’s Day with green cookies, festive drinks, and even better company. Moments like these remind us that joy can be simple, shared, and a little bit silly—and that’s something worth celebrating.

Here’s to finding light in the little things!

Your brain is capable of change. That ability is called neuroplasticity.

Understanding how the brain adapts over time can help explain why some treatments focus on restoring healthy activity patterns rather than masking symptoms.

Some of our team recently had the opportunity to learn more about the important work being done by the Seamen’s Church Institute (SCI) along our waterways.

Maritime workers keep an essential part of our economy moving, yet many face unique challenges while working long stretches away from home. It was inspiring to hear how this organization supports those workers through several locations up and down the river—offering care, advocacy, and resources to people who often work behind the scenes.

At Lumera Healthcare, we value opportunities to connect with organizations that are serving others with compassion and purpose! Thank you for the meaningful work you’re doing to help people navigate life’s challenges and shine a little brighter.

We had a blast with students at for their 8th Grade Preview Night! Brandon Morehead, PA-C was able to talk to students about how the building blocks for a career in medicine start with opportunities like this. He encouraged them to continue seeking and jumping at every opportunity to learn.

Students throughout the night were able to explore potential tracks for them to take in high school and meet with different community occupations in each category. We were able to represent the Biomedical Science track. Thank you Murray High for having us and we're excited to see the amazing advances these students make in the future!

Congressman Andy Barr and Ambassador Cathy Bailey, thank you both for your unwavering leadership in advancing initiatives that support the well-being of communities across Kentucky. (Pictured Left to Right: Congressman Andy Barr; Manish Sood, CEO of Lumera Healthcare; Ambassador Cathy Bailey)

Lumera Healthcare is proud to serve individuals and families throughout the state, and we know that strong leadership in healthcare policy, mental health, and child welfare can make a profound impact on every community. Ambassador Bailey’s tireless efforts to help vulnerable children in foster care and adoption are truly inspiring, and Congressman Barr’s work to strengthen healthcare access continues to benefit countless Kentuckians.

We were honored to connect with both leaders to discuss the importance of expanding care, strengthening mental health resources, and supporting children and families in need. Every day, we witness the power compassionate, accessible healthcare has in changing lives.
