Energy Plant Workers Learn About New Benefits – Lead Story on Channel 6!

We are excited to announce that our Benefits Resource Fair, held on September 6, 2024, was the lead story on Channel 6! To date, $1.59 billion has already been paid out in compensation and medical benefits to workers exposed to radiation and toxic chemicals in the Paducah area thru the Dept. of Labor's EEOICPA program.

The event drew a tremendous turnout as energy workers, their families, and community members gathered to learn more about the resources and healthcare options available. Brandy Mitchell, our Outreach Benefit Advisor, reminded attendees that even those previously denied benefits should try again. "We can always refile your claim," she shared, giving hope to many seeking assistance.

A special thank you to our community partners for helping make this event a success. Together, we’re making a difference for our region’s energy workers.

$1.59 billion worth of benefits became available for workers exposed to radiation and toxic chemicals for decades at one of our area's largest employers — the Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant.
