Milner and Orr Funeral Home and Cremation Services

Milner and Orr Funeral Home and Cremation Services For generations our family has been helping area families through the difficult days of their lives. In 1926, Roy M.

Our goal is to compassionately guide families through difficult times by providing a professional staff, exsquisite facilities, and personal service. Around Western Kentucky, many families can trace their roots back over a century or more. Well, that's how long we've been serving the community with caring service, personal attention, and a heritage that has continued for seven generations. We started as a small general store in the town of Lowes, Kentucky. The family business was an important part of the daily lives of the families around Western Kentucky. In the late 1800's, caskets were made and sold at the general store. During the early 1900's, the Lowe family began funeral services. Lowe attended mortuary school and built a state-of-the-art funeral home in 1940. The family horse-drawn hearse soon gave way to newer funeral coaches. Andrea Milner Orr's parents, Judith and Billy Joe, soon expanded the family's trade by opening in other small Kentucky communities. Today, Andrea and Randy Orr offer the caring family service in five locations: Paducah, Lone Oak, Bardwell, Wickliffe, and Arlington. For over 150 years, Western Kentucky families have trusted Milner and Orr because we're hometown folks. We know the area, we know you, and we believe in families helping families.

It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of Dennis Dale Kinsel, 89, of Paducah, Kentucky and formerly of Brookville, Ohio. Dennis was a beloved husband, father, stepfather, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He met his Lord and Savior on December 28, 2025, after courageously battling a long illness.

Dennis Kinsel, born in 1936, grew up in Brookville, Ohio, where he attended Brookville Schools. He graduated from Brookville High School in 1954 and went on to earn his bachelor’s degree from Wittenberg University in 1958. He later completed his master’s degree at Xavier University in 1969. He married Janet Ann Devine in 1958, and together they raised their four children in Brookville while actively attending Trinity Lutheran Church.

Dennis dedicated 31 years of his life to Brookville Schools, where he made a lasting and meaningful impact on generations of students. Though he taught Driver’s Education and General Science, Dennis was best known as the much-loved Physical Education teacher at Westbrook School. He also coached track and in 1964 he launched the school’s cross-country program. He founded the Brookville Cross-Country Invitational which has grown into one of the largest and oldest cross-country meets in Ohio, with hundreds of runners and dozens of teams.

He served as the school athletic director from 1970 - 1978 expanding Brookville’s athletic program from seven sports to fifteen during his tenure, and with the passage of Title IX in 1972 he was an enthusiastic supporter of expanding women’s sports in the schools.

Dennis served as Trustee and Treasurer of the Brookville High School Alumni Association for four years and was also Chairman of the Athletic Council. He played an instrumental role in the creation of the Brookville Area Schools Hall of Fame, which was founded to recognize and celebrate the positive accomplishments and contributions of Brookville Schools alumni. A charter member of the Hall of Fame, Dennis served on the selection committee for seven years and was inducted in 2002 in recognition of his meritorious service to Brookville School athletics.

From 1995 to 2001 he spent countless hours researching and helping to create what is now the Brookville High School Athletic Hall of Champions, a hallway at the school lined with memorabilia, pictures and plaques of Brookville’s outstanding athletes.

After the tragic passing of his first wife, Janet Ann (Devine) Kinsel, in 1986, Dennis married again in 1987 to Mollie Kathleen (Rowe, Ratliff) Kinsel, with whom he shared many happy and blessed years. In 2015 they moved to Paducah, Kentucky to be closer to Kathleen’s daughter and her family. He and Kathleen became active members of the Reidland United Methodist Church where they met many wonderful, faithful friends and enjoyed participation in the OWLs ministry. He enjoyed exercising and working puzzles with others at the McCracken County Senior Center. He enjoyed playing golf with friends and family. He was an avid fan of the Cincinnati Reds and Ohio State Buckeyes. He enjoyed attending grandchildren’s sporting and academic events. He easily made friends with neighbors and was a Christian witness through action to all he met. He was mild mannered but always had a joke to tell.

A devoted Christian, a lifelong athlete, and a proud Eagle Scout, Dennis embodied commitment, compassion, and integrity throughout his life. He valued fairness, teamwork, and the spirit of good sportsmanship. His good humor and loving presence will be missed by family and his many good friends.

Mary Hogancamp Morgan Martinie, age 92, was welcomed home by her Lord and Savior on December 27, 2025. She passed away peacefully at Oakview Nursing Facility after a valiant battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

Mary was born on October 5, 1933, in Bardwell, Kentucky, as the youngest child of William and Myrtie Hogancamp. As the baby of the family, she was cherished by her older brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews and brought joy to all who knew her. She grew up in the church singing alto in the choir with her sisters, Bonnie and Betty. She married her high school sweetheart, Charles E. Morgan, on December 29, 1951, and was blessed with three children, Cynthia Jane, Roger Lynn, and Lisa Gaye. Later in life, she married her devoted companion, Bill Martinie.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents, William and Myrtie Hogancamp; son, Roger Lynn Morgan; husband, Charles Morgan; daughter, Lisa Morgan Babb; husband, Bill Martinie; brothers, Marion (Eva) Hogancamp, James (Inez) Hogancamp, Walter (Agnes) Hogancamp, Dr. Charles (Faye) Hogancamp, and Dr. Glenn (Ann) Hogancamp; sisters, Novie Hogancamp, Lorene Spillman, Betty (Dean) Brown-Molln, Bonnie (Warren Lee) Owens. Mary embodied the teachings of Christ, clothed in strength and dignity, hardworking and generous, devoted to her family and the Lord even in the most trying of times. She never met a stranger and would shower gifts of homemade food and crocheted blankets just when you needed it the most. She volunteered with the Red Cross, retired from Kentucky Health and Human Services, and was an active member of Mississippi Baptist Church for over 80 years. She was appointed a Kentucky Colonel, the governor’s highest honor, in recognition of her charitable aid to those in need.

To those who knew her best, our “Mama, “Nonny,” and “Aunt Mary” was the bedrock of our family--the one who provided for us, comforted us, guided us, and wrapped us in love. We cherish memories of her warm kitchen, biscuits and gravy, hugs, and soft voice singing lullabies. She lived every moment to its fullest and was generous with her time and affection. She had a wonderful sense of humor and delighted in playing mischievous pranks and having a great belly laugh. Words cannot express the void left in our hearts, but we are comforted by God’s promise of everlasting life and the joyful Heavenly reunion.

Proverbs 31:25-29 (ESV)Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she laughs at the time to come. She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue. Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: “Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all.”

Dale Eugene Tatum peacefully crossed over to God’s green pastures at his home in Wickliffe on December 27, 2025.

Born to Treever and Bessie Tatum in Wyatt, Missouri, on April 27, 1949, Dale grew up with his many siblings before marrying the love of his life, Cherie Holmes Tatum in 1967. They moved to Anniston for many years before moving to their home and family farm in Wickliffe, Kentucky. He was known as “Rooster” to many.

Dale was an entrepreneur, owning many businesses throughout his life. He owned a successful construction business for over 40 years, Dale Tatum Grain Elevator Repair, contracting with Bunge. In 2006, Dale retired to the farm, and his sons continued the construction business for another 10 years with Bunge. He traveled for most of his career all over the Midwest with his crew. He worked side by side with his two sons for many years. Dale worked hard at everything he did, and never half-butt did anything. His unrelenting drive and dedication rubbed off on his entire family. Some of his greatest joys were in farming. He owned cattle, horses, pigs, and all kinds of other animals. He was very knowledgeable in gardening and horticulture.

He enjoyed making people laugh, telling jokes, and eating fresh seafood. If he wasn’t working in his long-sleeved Wrangler shirt (that he wore year-round) and work boots, you’d see him in his pearl snaps and snakeskin boots. He most likely had a Pepsi in hand and a list in his front shirt pocket on his way to get parts or supplies.

Dale is survived by his wife of 58 years, Cherie Tatum; two sons, Dale Jr. (Missy) Tatum of Bertrand, Missouri, and Shaun (Rebekah) Tatum of Wickliffe; and three grandchildren, Jake (Dessie) Tatum of East Prairie Missouri, Maddie (Clayton) Reynolds of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, and Lindsay (Dustin) Bowles of Wickliffe.

He was preceded in death by an infant grandson, Caleb Aaron Tatum; a brother, Ronnie Tatum; and his parents.

A memorial service will be held on the family farm at a later date.

Expressions of sympathy can be made to the Ronald McDonald House, www.rmhc.org/donate, or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Pamela Kay Rogers Whittemore, age 74, passed away peacefully on December 25, 2025. Pam was born in Mullins, South Carolina, on October 12, 1951. Her unwavering kindness, warmth, Grace, and deep devotion to caring for others are the traits for which she will be remembered.

Pam attended Ohio County High School before continuing her education at Murray State University, where she earned both her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and her Master of Arts in Elementary Education. It was also at Murray State where she met her beloved husband, Thomas M. Whittemore. On May 3, 1975, Pam and Tommy married, beginning a life together that would span more than fifty years—years defined by deep love, steadfast faith, shared purpose, laughter, and an unbreakable bond. Their marriage was rooted in the promise to care for one another in sickness and in health, a promise they honored daily with unwavering devotion. Through every season of life, Pam and Tommy were constant companions, each other’s greatest comfort and truest home, remaining faithfully side by side until Pam was peacefully called home.

Pam had many dear friends, loved children, and above all else, lived by the principle of service above self. Though she never had biological children of her own, she was a mother in countless ways—cherishing her many nieces and nephews, guiding her sisters, and being a loving, motherly presence to the two boys blessed to grow up next door. Her love was never limited by blood; if you were in her life, you belonged.

Pam dedicated decades of service to First Christian Church Preschool, where she touched generations of children and families with her wisdom, patience, and remarkable ability to see the best in every child. As FCC Preschool Director, her leadership shaped the program into a nurturing environment where children thrived. The countless lives she helped mold remain forever grateful for her guidance and love.

Beyond the preschool, Pam was deeply committed to her church community. She served faithfully as both a deacon and elder at First Christian Church, and one of her proudest achievements was co-founding the Super Senior Program, a ministry that enriched the lives of older members and reflected her lifelong devotion to service. Her faith and leadership were cornerstones of her life.

She also devoted many years to the American Cancer Society, offering compassion and comfort to others in the community, long before she later faced—and overcame—cancer herself.

Pam loved dogs and rescued many throughout her lifetime, giving each one a loving home—often to Tommy’s tongue-in-cheek chagrin, which never stood a chance against Pam’s heart, as he ultimately loved every dog just as deeply. She was also a gifted cook and a gracious host, creating a home filled with warmth, laughter, and unforgettable meals. For more than forty years, the home Pam and Tommy shared was the heart of Christmas celebrations and her famous Christmas dinner. It was only fitting that on Christmas, Pam was surrounded by those she loved most—the very people with whom she had shared more than forty Christmas nights, a circle of family and friends reflecting the enduring love, warmth, and traditions she and Tommy created together.

Pam was the daughter of Lonnie R. Rogers Jr. and Carolyn Croom Rogers. She was preceded in death by her parents and by her dear friend Kris Straub, whose memory she cherished deeply.

She is survived by her loving husband of more than fifty years, Thomas M. Whittemore of Paducah; her sisters, Jan Haley of Centerville, Tennessee, and Kim Enix (Barry) of Benton, Kentucky; her nieces and nephews, Jarin Haley of Centerville, Tennessee, Will Haley of Benton, Jadrian Charette of Brewers, Kentucky, and Cory Enix of Nashville, Tennessee; and her great-niece, Jaley Charette. She also leaves behind many dear friends who were family in every sense of the word, including her “sons,” Eric Straub (Emma) and Jason Straub (Emma), and their father, Rick Straub (Cathy).

Pam will be remembered for the way she made people feel: loved, welcomed, and deeply cared for. Her life was a testament to faith, service, and love—and at the heart of it all was a marriage marked by devotion, tenderness, and more than fifty years of shared life. Her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched.

A memorial visitation will be held from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 2174, or the First Christian Church of Paducah Preschool, 415 Audubon Drive, Paducah, KY 42001.

Our Story

Around Western Kentucky, many families can trace their roots back over a century or more. Well, that's how long we've been serving the community with caring service, personal attention, and a heritage that has continued for seven generations. We started as a small general store in the town of Lowes, Kentucky. The family business was an important part of the daily lives of the families around Western Kentucky. In the late 1800's, caskets were made and sold at the general store. During the early 1900's, the Lowe family began funeral services. In 1926, Roy M.
