The Outlaw Hours is where we first heard The Mavericks. "Hey Good Lookin'" and "From Hell To Paradise" were the songs you may remember hearing. Then in 1994 they released "What A Cryin' Shame" and they exploded onto the mainstream. But listeners of The Outlaw Hours already knew how good The Mavericks were, with the unmistakable lead vocals of Raul Malo. Sadly, this one-of-a-kind voice has been silenced. RIP, Raul.
Raul Malo, frontman for Tex-Mex band The Mavericks who later played with Latin supergroup Los Super Seven, died Dec. 8 of cancer. He was 60.
