🚨 Human Trafficking: What you need to know. Human trafficking is the exploitation of people, often through force, fraud, or coercion. People are trafficked for labor, s*xual exploitation, or even forced criminality. It happens in every U.S. state and across the globe.
🌍 Global snapshot (UNODC, Dec 2024): Detected trafficking victims rose 25% from 2019 to 2022. Forced labor detections surged 47%, and child victims increased 31%, with girls now making up 38% of detected cases. Women and girls account for 61% of all detected victims. [unodc.org]
